Hi, girls!

There's something that has always fascinated me and that I've always wanted to learn: crafts.
I've always dreamed of creating my own bracelets, working with metal, precious stones, mother-of-pearl, abalone (my favorite material). But I'd also love to knit, embroider, paint, etc.

At home, I have all sorts of crafts I've been able to find. I'm fascinated watching the artisan at work as they create these works of art.
It always looks so simple in their hands, and yet, it's not at all.
Baskets like these, handmade, woven with natural materials, seem like anything anyone could make. I wish I could make them and I'd fill my house with wicker objects, but I don't have that talent, that patience... nor the time, unfortunately.

Goldsmithing is another of my unfulfilled passions. It doesn't have to be gold or silver, but any tasteful, artistic piece is beautiful, and I always look for it at craft fairs in my country.

I always wear them; even when I'm going to appear in public, whether it's a concert or a smaller event: on my hands, around my neck, and in my ears, I'll have some work by these artisans.

The closest I've come to this passion is when I approach some of these artists and suggest pieces they could make (and that I'd love to make too), taking into account the materials and pieces they display in their shops.

When I read @merit.ahama's prompt, I had no doubt what I was going to answer. Ironically, these handcrafted items are completely at odds with my profession, since, being so physical, they can damage your hands. And my profession requires me to take care of my hands at all times. My hands are my livelihood. So, for now, I'll remain an observer and consumer of these handmade wonders.

Hola, chicas!

Hay algo que siempre me ha fascinado y siempre he querido aprender: las manufacturas.
Siempre he soñado con crearme mis propios pulsos, trabajando el metal, las piedras preciosas, el nácar, el abulón (mi material preferido). Pero también me encantaría tejer, bordar, pintar, etc.

En casa tengo todo tipo de manualidades que he podido encontrar. Me fascina observar el trabajo del artesano mientras crea estas obras de arte.
Siempre parece tan sencillo en sus manos y, sin embargo, no lo es en absoluto.
Cestas como estas, confeccionadas a mano, tejidas con materiales naturales, parecería que cualquiera puede hacerlas. Yo quisiera poder hacerlas y llenaría mi casa de objetos de mimbre, pero no tengo ese don, esa paciencia... tampoco el tiempo, lamentablemente.

La orfebrería es otra de mis pasiones frustradas. No tiene que ser oro o plata, sino cualquier trabajo con buen gusto, con arte, es hermoso y siempre lo busco en las ferias de artesanías de mi país.
Siempre las uso al vestir; incluso, cuando me voy a presentar en público, ya sea un concierto u otra presentación más pequeña: en mis manos, cuello y orejas estará alguna obra de estos artesanos.
Lo más cercano que he estado de esta pasión es cuando me acerco a alguno de estos artistas y les doy sugerencias de piezas que pudieran confeccionar (y a mí me gustaría poder hacer también), teniendo en cuenta los materiales y las piezas que ellos exponen en sus tiendas.

Cuando leí el prompt de @merit.ahama no tuve duda alguna de qué iba a responder. Irónicamente, estos trabajos manuales, van en completa contradicción con mi profesión, ya que, al ser tan físicos, pueden dañar las manos. Y, mi profesión requiere que cuide mis manos en todo momento. Mis manos son mi sustento. De modo que, de momento, me mantengo de observadora y consumidora de estas maravillas hechas a mano.
