For me, this initiative, created by our friend @emiliorios, brings back many memories. Most of them due to the color of the chosen tag: the blue tag.

The first thing that comes to mind is my son Diego. His favorite color is blue. He wants everything in blue. I gave each of my children a pendant, and since I know their preferences, I bought a black one and a blue one, and then let them choose which one they wanted. Diego asked for the blue one, without even thinking about it. Carlos kept the black one.

One day we went shopping for flash drives, and Diego came with me. Out of so many pretty models, he wanted me to buy a blue flash drive.
It wasn't the prettiest, but it was blue.
When he turned 14, my husband @abelarte and I decided that, as part of his gift, we would take him clothes shopping for the first time in his life. Up until that point, I'd bought them according to my taste, but Abel insisted I give him that experience, so he could make his own decisions and learn how to pay, etc.
Diego really enjoyed it.
He surprised me by buying a different shirt than the one I would have chosen for him. By the way, it was a blue shirt.

When I showed her mine (also blue), she said it was pretty, but she liked the one she chose better. That was a day of learning and growth for both of us.
And speaking of children, a good friend of mine's daughter is named Azul. She's a beautiful girl, as beautiful as the color she's named after. Judith, my friend, undoubtedly chose a unique name for her little girl.
But for me, the color blue also has great meaning. I'm from Havana, so that color distinguishes me.
Blue is the color of the Cuban capital. I attribute this to the sea that distinguishes us, the seawall, and the immense line of sandy beaches we enjoy every year on vacation, and also during the off-season.
The ocean is something else. Abel and I live in Las Tunas, a city without a sea. However, when we spend several days at his house in Havana, one of the things I enjoy most is the ocean view.

He doesn't live very close to the beach, but from his balcony he has a privileged view of miles of coastline and ocean. I can spend hours and hours sitting on that balcony looking out at the ocean.

It relaxes me. I always sit there in the mornings and evenings watching the sunrise and sunset.
The blue disappears, but I know it's there, even if I don't see it. Then it will return. It always does.
I don't know about other people, but for Abel and me, living in a land without that blue horizon sometimes makes us feel sad, out of place.
That's why we love cities like Matanzas and Cienfuegos, cities with beautiful blue beaches and that distinctive ocean scent.
Yes, definitely, blue is the label I prefer. Thank you so much for this beautiful and original initiative.

Para mí, esta iniciativa creada por nuestro amigo @emiliorios, me trae muchos recuerdos. La mayoría de ellos debido al color de la etiqueta elegida: la etiqueta azul.

Lo primero que me viene a la mente es mi hijo Diego. Su color favorito es el azul. Todo lo quiere en azul. Le regalé un colgante a cada uno de mis hijos y como sé sus preferencias, compré uno negro y uno azul, y luego les di a elegir cuál querían. Dieguito pidió el azul, sin pensarlo siquiera. Carlos se quedó con el de color negro.

Un día fuimos a comprar unas memorias flash y Diego me acompañó. De tantos modelos muy bonitos, él quiso que comprara una memoria flash de color azul.
No era la más bonita, pero era azul.
Cuando cumplió 14 años, mi esposo @abelarte y yo decidimos que, como parte de su regalo, lo llevaríamos a que se comprara su ropa por primera vez en su vida. Hasta ese momento se la compraba a mi gusto, pero Abel me insistió en darle esa experiencia a él, para que tomara sus propias decisiones y aprendiera a pagar y demás.
Diego disfrutó muchísimo.
Me sorprendió al comprarse una camisa distinta a la que yo hubiera elegido para él. Por cierto, era una camisa de color azul.

Cuando le mostré la mía (también azul) me dijo que era bonita, pero la que eligió le gustaba más. Ese fue un día de aprendizaje y crecimiento para ambos.
Y hablando de hijos, la hija de una buena amiga mía se llama Azul. Es una niña hermosa, tan hermosa como el color del que toma nombre. Judith, mi amiga, sin dudas eligió un nombre único para su niña.
Pero para mí el color azul también tiene gran significado. Soy habanera, por lo que ese color me distingue.
El azul es el color de la capital cubana. Lo atribuyo a que se deba por el mar que nos distingue. Por ese malecón y por la inmensa línea de playas de arena que disfrutamos cada año en vacaciones, y también fuera de temporada vacacional.
Ya el mar es otra cosa. Abel y yo vivimos en Las Tunas, una ciudad sin mar. Sin embargo, cuando nos pasamos varios días en su casa en La Habana, una de las cosas que más disfruto es la vista al mar.

Él no vive muy cerca de la playa, pero desde su balcón tiene una vista privilegiada a kilómetros de costa y mar. Puedo pasarme horas y horas, sentada en ese balcón mirando al mar.
Me relaja. Siempre me siento por las mañanas y por las tardes a observar el amanecer y la puesta del sol.
El azul desaparece, pero sé que ahí está, aunque no lo vea. Luego regresará. Siempre lo hace.
No sé en el caso de las demás personas, pero para Abel y para mí, vivir en una tierra sin ese azul en el horizonte, a veces nos llega a hacer sentir triste, fuera de nuestro ambiente.
Por eso adoramos a ciudades como Matanzas, Cienfuegos, ciudades con hermosas playas azules y ese olor marino característico.
Sí, decididamente, la azul es la etiqueta que prefiero. Muchas gracias por esta bella y original iniciativa.
