A menu for the anniversary / Un menú para el aniversario (eng-esp)

I'm so excited to be participating in the community's fifth anniversary! @priyanarc is asking us some questions for this week's Community Quiz #254, and I'll start answering them in detail.

If I could bring you something special to celebrate, it wouldn't be enough with just a dish or a drink. I'd go for both. Since it's a celebration, the first thing I'd bring is a big bucket of cold salad.
I'd love for everyone to be able to enjoy this delicious treat. A cold salad like the ones I ate when I was little. Those that, apart from the elbow macaroni and mayonnaise, had small pieces of pineapple and white onion, to provide the contrast between the sweet and sour taste of the pineapple and the characteristic crunch of the onion.

But any self-respecting cold salad should include chicken, ham (smoked ham, even better), and petit pois, or green peas as they are also known.
The great thing about this dish is that the base is the elbow macaroni and mayonnaise. From there, anything you add to it is always wonderful. It's up to the consumer. I've seen (and eaten) cold salads with shrimp. Delicious. If you want, we can also add them to our birthday party. We can prepare part with shrimp and part without, in case anyone is allergic to shellfish.
Cold salad is a dish that was never missing from any birthday party of my childhood. It's inexpensive, easy to prepare, and delicious. The salad, the cake, and the croquettes were the perfect combo.
As for drinks, I'd like to break away from the beer, juice, or soda pattern. I'd like to have Malta.

This isn't a non-alcoholic beverage known worldwide. I know it's not drunk in Mexico and much of North America. But it's exquisite, and I know you'll like it.
It's derived from barley, just like beer, but sweet and divine.
Without a doubt, it would be a great opportunity to try new flavors and experience the thrill of sipping on some cold malts. That's something that characterizes our community: it pushes us to break the mold, to lose our fear of trying new things.

¡Qué alegría me da participar en el quinto aniversario de la comunidad! @priyanarc nos hace algunas preguntas para el concurso de la comunidad #254 de esta semana y comenzaré a responderle por parte.

Si pudiera llevarles algo especial para celebrar, no bastaría con un plato o una bebida solamente. Yo iría por ambas. Como es una celebración, lo primero que llevaría es una gran cubeta de ensalada fría.
Me gustaría que todas pudieran disfrutar de esta delicia. Una ensalada fría como las que comía cuando era pequeña. Esas que, aparte de los coditos y la mayonesa, tenía trozos pequeños de piña y cebolla blanca, para dar el contraste del agridulce de la piña con el crujiente y característico de la cebolla.

Pero toda ensalada fría que se respete debe llevar pollo, jamón (si es ahumado, mucho mejor) y petit pois, o guisantes verdes como también se le conoce.
Lo bueno de este plato es que la base es el codito con la mayonesa. A partir de ahí, todo lo que le añadas, siempre viene de maravilla. Es a gusto del consumidor. Fíjense si es así, que he visto (y comido) ensaladas frías con camarones. Delicioso. Si quieren, se los echamos también a la de nuestra fiesta de aniversario. Podemos preparar una parte con camarones y otra sin ellos, por si hay alguien alérgico a los mariscos.
La ensalada fría es un plato que nunca faltó en ningún cumpleaños de mi infancia. Es un plato económico, sencillo de preparar y delicioso. La ensalada, el cake y las croquetas, eran el combo perfecto.
Como bebida, quisiera romper el esquema de la cerveza, jugo o refresco. Quisiera que tomáramos Malta.

Esta no es una bebida no alcohólica conocida en todo el mundo. Me consta que en México y gran parte de Norteamérica no se bebe. Pero es exquisita y sin duda alguna, sé que les va a gustar.
Es derivada de la cebada, igual que la cerveza, pero dulce, divina.
Sin duda alguna, sería una buena oportunidad para probar nuevos sabores y vivir esta experiencia de tomarnos unas maltas frías. Eso es algo que caracteriza a nuestra comunidad: nos impulsa a romper esquemas, perder el miedo a probar cosas nuevas.

I love cold salad, either with salmon or chicken, so delicious. It is a very healthy dish. Thanks for sharing the process, ingredients, and details, and of course, a celebration is not a celebration without a beverage...

Mmm, I'll have to pass on any alcoholic beverages but the cold salad looks delicious as well as it is elegant as served.
