A gift for the soul - Un regalo para el alma - LOH contest week #267

There are several ways to answer the question @elizabethbit posed for the community contest in week #267. In my case, since I value gifts for the soul more than material things, I'm going to stay true to who I am and what I am.

First, before giving someone a gift, I should analyze and get to know that person well to know what to give them. However, there are some gifts that work for everyone because of their interesting concept.

In this case, I'll say that the recipient of my gift is my husband. I'm going to give him a photo album: empty.

Anyone would think that the album is the gift, but it isn't. The album is for him to put photos of the happiest moments we've experienced this year in.

So, from everything we've experienced, he has to choose only 36 photos (the number depends on the type of album).

I imagine him scrolling through his phone's photo gallery or the backup he makes on his computer, going over everything we've done this year, all the places we've been. I imagine him smiling at every crazy thing we've done with the kids, his kids, as he calls them.

Then comes the moment to print them out and put them in the album. We laugh again when he tells us the reason behind each photo he chose. On the back of the photo, we write the date, the location where the photo was taken, and the reason.

That's how we immortalize the memory.

We all have an almost endless gallery on our phones and other smart devices. However, the act of creating this photo album and being able to hold it in our hands is a gift for the soul, for the spirit.

This way, you'll have the satisfaction of reliving every joy of this year. Every time you see the album, stored in the living room, you'll remember this year and be happy again.

So, my gift isn't a photo album, but the happiness of good times.

Hola, chicas!

Hay varias maneras de responder a la pregunta que @elizabethbit nos presenta para el concurso de la comunidad en su semana #267. En mi caso, ya que valoro más los regalos para el espíritu que las otras cosas materiales, voy a seguir siendo fiel a quien soy y a lo que soy.

Primeramente, antes de regalarle a alguien, debo analizar, conocer bien a esa persona para saber qué regalarle. Sin embargo, hay algunos regalos que funcionan para todo el mundo, debido a lo interesante de su concepto.

En este caso diré que el destinatario de mi regalo será mi esposo. A él le voy a regalar un álbum de fotos: vacío.
Cualquiera pensaría que el álbum es el regalo, y no lo es. El álbum es para que coloque en él las fotos de los momentos más felices que hemos vivido este año.
Entonces, de todo lo que hemos vivido, tiene que elegir solo 36 fotos (la cantidad depende del tipo de álbum).

Me lo imagino andando en la galería del teléfono o en la salva que hace en la computadora, repasando todo lo que hemos hecho en el año, a todos los lugares que hemos ido. Me imagino sonriendo ante cada locura hecha con los niños, sus niños, como les dice.

Luego viene el momento de imprimirlas y luego colocarlas en el álbum. Ahí volvemos a reírnos cuando nos cuenta el por qué de cada foto elegida. En la parte trasera de la foto escribimos la fecha, lugar donde fue tomada la foto y la razón.
Así inmortalizamos el recuerdo.

Todos tenemos una galería casi infinita en el celular y en cualquier otro dispositivo inteligente. Sin embargo, el hecho de realizar este acto y poder palparlo, es un regalo para el alma, para el espíritu.
Así tendrá la satisfacción de poder revivir cada alegría de este año. Cada vez que vea el álbum, guardado en la sala, se acordará de este año y volverá a ser feliz.
De modo que, mi regalo no es un álbum de fotos, sino la felicidad de los buenos momentos.
