A coffee shop, but on the other side of the stage / Un café, pero del otro lado del escenario (eng-esp)
Hello, coffee lovers around the world!
Today I'm going to do something different. It's about my amazement at how writers always have coffee at their readings, panels, and presentations.
The connection between writers and coffee is incredible!

My husband, @abelarte, invited me to Cienfuegos to participate in two literary events, and there I noticed it even more clearly.
There wasn't a single activity—whether a reading, book presentation, or conference—where they didn't serve coffee.
They live in paradise!

Musicians can't do this. You saw my previous post, where yes, there was coffee, but only between work sessions.
Well, not them. They can drink coffee while they work.
That's magnificent.

In fact, many of them have to prepare a good coffee as a ritual before sitting down to write.
In Abel's case, it's before, during, and after 😅.
What matters is that there's coffee. They even write to the coffee.

The other really interesting thing is the venues. Writers' presentations can be held anywhere. But my favorites are bookstores and libraries.

There's something addictive about the smell of these places. Combine that with a good book and the aroma of coffee: it's paradise.

And they (the writers) have managed to establish literary cafés within bookstores in almost every province. There, they gather to chat and can spend hours talking about literature and life... as long as the coffee lasts.

And I, of course, always take the opportunity to play. Writers are a wonderful audience. And music and coffee go together perfectly.
Bookstores and libraries have excellent acoustics, and it would be a crime to waste them.

And amidst all this art and wonder, coffee is always there as the driving force, the central axis of all literary activities.
A serious study on this is worthwhile.

So, with good coffee, good company, amazing places, and plenty of literature, you're always guaranteed a great time. Try it and see.

I agree, creativity (particularly writing) and coffee go hand in hand. Though I assume musicians also enjoy it while composing at least, no?
Yes, of course. But not all musicians compose. And when we're rehearsing or studying, we can't just drink coffee. We have to take breaks to do it. It's not the same situation.

¡Abrazos!
I totally understand what you mean about the mix of aromas of books and coffee. It's special when it happens at a bookstore or a library, where books are many ❤️
Thank you ☺️.
