Iziar In Small Mana Battle, Try It!

Greetings Fellow Summoners

How's your Splinterlands Battles? I hope you have been doing great, winning a lot and of course losing a lot too. Most people have a win rate between 49% to 50%, so you should have lost as many as you have won lol... unless you are those magnificent players.

My battles are not good recently. I have not got enough time to play and my cards line up is very limited because I do not aggressively seek cards in the market as I used to. However this is not a venting, ranting or a sad post... No matter how bad I play, there are conditions that I perform extraordinary compared to others.

Let's say those zone are my forte and one of them is a small mana battle. I have talked about this several times before, you may say I am bragging about this, but indeed I am good in small mana battles.

So let me show you one of the small mana battles that I have won using a weird approach...

This is the battle that I have chosen for this post. It's 19 mana battle, not too small but small enough to give everyone some small headache about what meta they want to deliver in this condition.

In general, there are two way to follow this condition:

  1. Generate a line up which is full of small mana units, and try to develop a massive combined damage from them. This one was hard to follow, because we had "keep your distance" modifier, which disallowed melee units to participate in.
  2. Drop a strong unit, and have the left over mana as supporting units. So basically if your core unit dies, you lose the battle. This way was more feasible, because there were some good non melee units we could pick in this battle.

My opponent chose the second one, he built a team which CALAMITY was the center of the line up. The other units were a tank, and two supports which gave strengthen ability, so they would have all units +2 health points. A unique move, clever one.

Calamity is a great choice in small mana battle. He only needs 4 mana, and his stats or attributes is ridiculous for a small mana unit. This is one of the units I hate most, because I often lose due to it.

However it did not work in that battle. We had an Outsider modifier, which allowed me to use units from wild format... old version unit... Thing would be different and I dropped in one of my favorite units in this battle. not for it's prowess, but more for its annoying hard to be killed traits.

It was Iziar, which was a formidable wall against magic units. I was only able to add one more unit and it was Satha Toledo, a healer. These two were enough for me to build up a negative meta line up.

My team did not need to attack, all they needed was to survive the longest they could. This was another approach of HARAM META that I had posted before several weeks ago. I wanted to win without attacking lol.

Let's face this fact:

  1. My attacks was nerfed by their summoner.
  2. Basically I could not make any kill with 2 damage per round.
  3. I could only rely on Magic Reflect, from Counterspell modifier.

Nothing looked great for me, right? However I would brag this again... Small mana battle is my forte, I am not undefeated here but you need some luck to defeat me in this battle. and having negative approach, turtle formation, Haram Meta, or anything that tried to win using sissy wimpy cowardice ways are my forte too lol.

After two rounds of this battle, my team was still unable to put down any unit there. The same condition happened there, they could not bring down my Iziar, it was too much regarding their attacks... which relied only on magic.

This battle ended in round 5. Honestly my team did not do anything positive ere, what we did were only:

  1. Waiting they died from electrified damage from their own unit, Calamity.
  2. Eating popcorn while seeing they got hurt from their own reflected magic attacks.

Did I get lucky there? I believed it was not a luck that brought me a win. My formation could be easily countered by adding a healer, a range unit, or a status ailment such as poison or affliction.

However I had already studied his several last battles and I had high belief that he would come with Calamity. I was anticipating that bastard lizard to come, and planned to make him killed his own teammates lol.

So that's another of my small mana battle story. What do you think about it?feel free to express yourself here. That's all I want to share today and see you on Splinterlands battle!
