Immunity Doesn't Work For Global Warming

Hello Splinterlands Summoners

As usual I write a couple of Splinterlands posts during weekend, and this is one of them... so Welcome to my Splinterlands post, and in this post I will talk about Global Warming.

Anyway I am not talking about the earth climate change or the green house gas effect here. We are not talking about that but we are talking about Splinterlands Global Warming modifier, or ruleset if you are an old timer one.

Yes this is the modifier, you can see the logo above. Basically during this modifier, all our units will get burning status. All units will suffer 2 damage every turn. This is similar to earth quake and noxious fumes (poison) modifiers, however the damage is not melee damage. It is a true health point, without any discount from any ability.

To counter this status effect, you need a cleanse ability. That's the trick, and burn status effect can bypass immunity ability. However I keep seeing people do not notice this part, they still think that burning effect is similar to poison, so immunity ability holder would not get that status effect. Well, it is wrong and again I say many still forget about that.

So let see a battle that show us this kind of case.

I pick this battle, which I think a good battle from BRAWL. I play for silver league gold foil fray, so both of us playing with a max level cards here. So we can say that both of us come at our best here. We both come with Legendary Summoners too, so it's a legit battle where both of us using our best cards.

The most important part is the Global Warming modifier. I would not pick this battle without that one. There are two other modifiers there, need for speeds and close range. Both are not quite as important as this global warming.

So here are my rule of thumb in developing my line up:

1. Everyone will suffer -2 health point per round, so I would not pick any units with small health point.
2. I will have some units with healing abilities. Even they do not fight, they can stay and trying to survive the longest.
3. Having a support unit with a cleanse ability should be top priority.

Those were simple but it was hard to follow all. I made a huge gamble by adding this one into my line up.

Isgald Vorst, in general this one is a good choice all round, however he has only 4 health point. in two round he will die. I dare myself to bring him in because I use Possibilus The Wise. That summoner gives +2 health point or in another word... one extra round to survive.

But still this is a big gamble... I just felt plain if I did not bring any Gladiator in any brawl battles.

At round two, we can see that my team was leading. It's 6 vs 4, a very out numbered condition. After the burning damage, it became 6 vs 3, a lot worse condition for my opponent.

The most important thing was the fire icon in our tank. His Quora Towershead was still in burning state, even she had that immunity ability. My Commander Slade on the other hand, had freed himself from the curse of burning.

Round three was the last one. it was a good game because my team won very convincingly lol. But in this screenshot you can see that my Seamonster had no more burning effect from the global warming modifier. He became the game changer here, a unit that freed from burning damage and had +3 health point recovery.

Thing might be more competitive if they could cleansed the burning effect on their Quora Towershead. But that is exactly why I made this post, because many people still think that burning effect will be nullified by immunity, and they do not watch their battles and just click skip for the fastest result.
