The Lord actually told us to let our yes be yes and our no be no because He, the Faithful and True, knows how hard it is to keep a promise. His Father had to watch His Son die to keep the promise of redemption ... and we don't even have that kind of ability. So you are wise to not ask or give a promise ... we are just humans.

Beating addiction is tough ...I know people that did and I know people that didn't ... choices and strength to make good ones ... we just have to pray for God's grace on those who are addicted ...

God always gives you the words I need to hear. I can not explain how grateful I am to read them. It is like getting a big warm hug, and telling me, "this too shall pass", and with prayer, everything will be as it will be as it should be.
