Splinterlands did a lot for onboarding and retention of people on Hive until that also went south. I think everything currently wrong with the ecosystem is from the high up. Just like a country with corrupt officials, lots of looting, institutions become weak and there's no rule of law, so the citizens do what they must to survive.
