More Sterling Scrap from The Refiner
It seems like it's been a short eternity since I last sent in a load of scrap Sterling silver to be refined. I think it was only about a month and a half from start to finish, but for someone as impatient as me that's far too long. Still, I can't complain when others are getting at best 60% back and having to wait months to get it.
I sent in about 17.5 ounces of Sterling scrap and got back 15 ounces of .999 fine 1oz bars. Not too shabby at all! I did the math and my all-in cost for it was about $69.94/ounce. I sold 13 of the bars to cover my costs. For my time and effort I got two ounces of silver that are worth about $76.50 each at spot, so $153 total. When all is said and done, these two bars cost me... $31. Not bad at all!
That's round three complete. On to the next round! I'm hoping in this next one I find some fun pieces to keep, but I'll take whatever I can get under melt. The search continues! Stack it any way you can get it!
