Well, when silver bars and coins were only like $5 each. There was no reason to reach into the "bottom of the barrel". Why carry around all that industrial metal along with your silver?

In the future, you will take silver plated silverware. Mirrors, even, or especially broken mirrors. I mean, like anything. Soon we will be recovering silver like we do gold from every little electronics item.
