Are You Ready?

After a lot of baseball and a bit of controversy, we finally have the teams set for the Little League World Series. Play should be kicking off tomorrow if I remember correctly in Pennsylvania. I'll talk about that tomorrow though, for now, let's just focus on the teams that are going to be representing each region in the US and Canada.

For the Great Lakes, I'm a bit depressed to see it is going to be a team from Hamilton, Ohio representing our region. I actually think some of our local teams did really well pushing to the final rounds of the qualifying tournament, but they just weren't able to get the big win.

Metro is going to be represented by a team from Bayonne, New Jersey, and the Mid-Atlantic honor goes to West Chester Pennsylvania.

As for the Midwest, that falls to a team from Davenport, Iowa. I've been to Davenport, it's a cool little town. I hear there are some pretty amazing disc golf courses in the area too, but I didn't have enough time to play any of them while we were there.

The Mountain region honor goes to Henderson, Nevada, and New England will be represented by Bridgewater Massachusetts.

A team from Tacoma, Washington will be filling the Northwest slot, while the Southeast was claimed by a team from Phenix City Alabama.

I think we are all familiar now with the fact that the team from Boerne Texas will be going to bat for the Southwest region, and the West region will be handled by a team from Bonita, California.

Meanwhile, down in the international bracket, the only slots that still weren't filled were Canada, and that honor goes to a team from Vancouver, British Columbia. Congrats to them!

As I said, play starts tomorrow at 1 PM EST and you better believe I will be tuning in to see how it all turns out. We kick things off with a hot game against Latin America versus the Caribbean. Then we follow it up with Southeast US vs. Northwest.

The day finishes with Canada facing Asia-Pacific, and Metro taking on New England.

It should be an awesome day of baseball!
