RE: No way to think lowly + LPUD

Reading through this post got me emotional because I can relate with every piece of it as a woman. I can remember the unfair treatment I have gotten from the society simple because I am a woman. Some are even cultural and traditional based.

In my tradition for instance, no matter how wealthy your father is, there's no inheritance for the female children. Only the males get to inherit his property. I keep asking myself - why so?

Indeed each person needs to be treated equally irrespective of your gender, skin tone, religion and culture.

I sincerely hope we get to the point where we are loved for who we are and not where we come from or what we can do.

In case of inheritance there can be various possible scenarios. Suppose you and your brothers got half inheritance from your parents. It is justified if both of you carry same responsibility. Most of the the parents want their son to bear the financial issues and earn for the family while they don't expect anything from daughter. Do you think in that case you also deserve the equal inheritance? I just want to know your thoughts.

In case of inheritance there are many things to consider. I my country women get inheritance from father but compared to male their percentage is low. Again female get more portion from the mother's inheritance. If she become a wife she would receive a portion from here husband also and combinedly I think it's a good system here.

I understand the fact that there are various possible scenarios when it comes to inheritance even if it was a 95% for the male child, and 5% for the female, I would not have a problem with that.

My issue is the 0% inheritance for the female child. For instance now, we are all girls in my family. My dad doesn't have a male child.

Can you guess what will happen with his assets when he's not more?

I got the point. And I feel it's not fair also based on what you said. Can't your parents directly transfer their assets directly. Considering the situation I think only direct transfer is the best way.

Based on tradition, it is forbidden.

His siblings will have to inherit them

It's indeed crazy. In such a case, I just feel your parents need to sell all the assets and keep the cash in a bank in a joint account of you and your siblings. It's not forbidden to sell an asset, I think.
