Really, you are worried about US warriors getting a good feed before going into battle?

There is so much government waste and fraud, but decent grub for warriors is money well spent.

An army marches on its stomach.

Frankly having well fed warriors is MUCH more civilizationally important than providing welfare.

In fact all welfare can be scrapped and a society will survive, maybe even do better. But scrap the military & you will be conquered and enslaved by others.

Without a strong military a society won't exist to feed and care for its less privileged. They will be enslaved by Muslim slavers.
