Dictionary.com's Word of the Year

If you pay attention to things like that. Maybe they were just trying to get more attention than Oxford or Webster, who knows? I do know, that '6-7' is their (dictionary.com) official word of the year. Why? Based on popular demand in searches across the web. Anyone seen that movie 'Idiocracy'? Yup.

So I noticed something after I came out of one of the boutiques whilst Christmas shopping today. I looked down and I was literally standing on it. Does anyone else have a photo of this nonsense? I swear, I didn't notice it on the way in, it was like someone was fukn with me, but it did give me a little chuckle and some content. 4 HSBI for anyone dropping nonsense in the comments and hey, REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, 5309.

Q: Why was six afraid of seven?
A: Because seven ate nine! 😂

Oh man, I was going to say that. I guess I'll just have to go with this one:

What do you call 4 Mexicans in quicksand?

Cuatro sinko

No offense to my Mexican brothers. 🇲🇽

"67" is all the rage among middle schoolers right now... Our daughter keeps saying it with a long drawl...

Is annoying, to say the least. But, I think that's part of it.

Actually, the first time I saw this was in an episode of South Park, but I didn't really understand where the reference came from. It's great that you told us about the movie; I haven't seen it yet. I need to find it so I can watch it and understand everything properly.

I feel like all the dictionaries are trolling us at this point: Oxford's word of the year was "rage-bait", then the other comes in with the "6-7" which feels a little bit like rage bait...

Lost a lot of my respect this year, to say the least.

No photos, but the general admission area of the pub Discord server is 6-7's. :) I don't think it should be a word, but I am not afraid to play into a fad!

That is some stupid graffiti... And how the hell are two numbers any part of a relevant dictionary? Then again, no one asked my opinion. Your kids are the age where they are going to be exposed to that all the time, hopefully it will be a short lived fad.

No pictures to share, if I saw it I would probably ignore it. I guess 69 just isn't in fashion any more?

Ya our shit was 69 and 86 so I kind of get where it's coming from !PIMP

Did 69 or 86 actually make the dictionary? I never even thought about it!

86 did, ya. No word of the year, but Oxford picked it up 😄

I saw Idiocracy recently for the first time. I liked it more than I expected! I have no idea what 6-7 means either. Now I'll have to look for it and I'll fall into the rabbit hole. 🤣

Now now, we had our own nonsense words to annoy all the adults back in the 80s. 😃 Kids are kids, after all.

You'll be happy to hear that 6-7 has crossed the Pacific and kids say it here too. What can we blame for that one... Tik Tok, I suppose.

Well. That's. Just. Great. Tik Tok likely, is more popular over that way. Nonsense you ask me. But, we had ours, give them theirs !PIMP
