What a Principle ...''Truth plus false is false.'

It has been some time since I have posted this one. It is a good principle to be reminded of from time to time. When we add something that is not true to something that is true... we negate the truth.

Here's wishing everyone a 'Happy Easter'!

A celebration of the resurrection of Christ Jesus, the Son of God, the Saviour of those who believe in Him. It is faith alone in Christ alone for eternal life.....nothing added to faith.

'For God loved the world so much, that He gave His uniquely born Son (Jesus Christ) so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.'John 3.16

The lily in the first photo reminds me of a hug. I don't know why.

False, like multiplying something by zero. It diminishes value. If we add false to truth, it becomes false, and if we add false to false, it becomes false again.

I have a lot of faith in God. In fact, I don't know what would become of me if I didn't have faith in God. Sometimes I feel a little alone, but I take refuge in the Lord and the Holy Spirit, and I always find an answer.

Any admixture to something pure leaves its mark, or something precipitates, or releases extra components (from school chemistry lessons)... undoubtedly, the principle that you @bleujay mentioned always works only in one direction, especially in the spiritual realm :)

The truth, the WHOLE truth... and nothing but the truth.... :)

That is what came in my head when I read the principle.... like the oath they make in a courtroom.

How did I almost miss this post?

I always think of the truth as a shining virtue that overexposes lies. To think that a lie can taint and diminish the truth isn't comforting but definitely true. I suppose if you baked a perfectly good cake but mixed shit in with the icing, it would no longer be a perfectly good cake.

So many halftruths being spread in politics lately but easy to say they are false with any sprinkling of lies.

What you say is so true....with a couple of excellent examples.

What one can appreciate about Principles is that they have a way of fine tuning our thinking....we were on the right track and the Principle gives our thinking an edge we did not have before....

Wow! I am trying to work out whether these pictures are photos or paintings, they are stunning images either way @bleujay.

What an interesting principle, I must admit I don't think I have come across this one in that particular term. I am all for the truth and honesty, it has been one of my sacred principles and has cost me a lot. But could I ask you for an example of a truth being fused with a non-truth thus rendering the whole thing untruthful?

I do hope you had a very Happy Easter! Can I ask did you get any eggs?!

Thank you for your kind words...oh yes...photographs to be sure.

However the background is a Van Gogh reproduction painting....thus the potential for confusion. ^__^

Ah yes...if Bleujay were to take the watercolour paint of 'French Ultramarine Bleu' and add 'Cobalt Teal Bleu' to it of any amount....the colour would no longer truly represent 'French Ultramarine Bleu'.

Of Course, we see it on the news everyday...do we not....a little bit of truth plus....non truths...really opinions not facts, not truth...resulting in distortion...false claims.

I should also say it applies when it comes to Salvation through faith in Christ....nothing added, not baptism, not church membership, not any ritual of any kind....as Religion likes to declare. The Bible repeatedly says....'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.' Full stop. ^__^
