Three Tune Tuesday Picks For April 14th! 🎹 2008-2012 Alt Pop Scene! 🎶 MGMT! Arcade Fire! The Naked & Famous! + Bonus Tunes!
In the 2000’s , especially 2008 to 2012 or so, there was this huge wave on indie alt music where huge record deals came for many of these “Alt Pop” artists. And many ended up with radio hits, it didn’t last long in the mainstream but I was there and saw many of these artists before the peak mainstream moment and it’s just interesting to see the mainstream come after theee tiny artists to sign em. This might be the last time major labels descended into an alt scene like this. We had all “The” bands get it in 2001, rap metal in 1999 , Seattle sound or alt rock after Nirvana broke and so on going back to hair metal & other stuff. Since that it’s just a different world.
Anyway below are my Three Tune Tuesday picks for Tuesday April 13th! 2007-2012 alt pop tunes. I’ll throw in a couple bonus tunes from the same scene also, u probably know a couple as some were huge hits. Definitely more melody & pop in this weeks TTT but it’s still alternative rock. Enjoy!

To me, you can hear a lot of eighties New Wave (ish) vibes in a lot of the Alt2k indie alt music. I guess stuff comes in waves, but at least set up side the synth / keyboards make a return to the whole scene.

I agree, you do hear a lot of the 80's sound in the alt 2K music, which is refreshing. I really don't like much of the mainstream garbage out there these days, it lacks originality and is too perfect. Lacks a desperately needed raw edge... Thanks for the HSBI, right back at you!
