You Are The Architect Of Your Destiny

One of the things that you need to understand about life is that it does not just happen, it is what you intentionally and actively shape with your choices. That is, you are principally the one that determines how your life will turn out to be by your choices and your decisions. Trust me, every decision you make, no matter how small it may look like will contribute to how your world will become and who you will eventually become. When you have understood the power that is resident in your choices and your decisions, you will use them to shape your life the way you want it to become. Just to let you know, you are the architect of your destiny.

It is worthy to note that being the architect of your life begins with intentional choices. However, to make these type of choices, you need to have clarity; clarity of mind, clarity of purpose, clarity of vision. That is, you need to know where you are going to and know what you are built for, in order to achieve it. Ask yourself what you really want. If you do not know what you want in life and what you are supposed to achieve, how will you get it? If you do not have the knowledge of the destination you are going to, how will you know if you have reached the place? This is why you have to be clear about what you want in life. When you have clearly defined what you want, you will be surprised how your choices will align towards it. Your choices, most times, are true reflections of your goals.

Everyday you live, you will be presented with lots of opportunities to make decisions - decisions of habit to form, decisions of friends to have, decisions of relationships, decisions of work or choice of career. Some of these decisions may look small, while others may look big. But cumulatively, they are all part of what make you who you are. There is no decision you take today that will leave you without obvious effects. As a matter of fact, every step you take will lead you somewhere - either forward or backwards. But by being intentional about the choices you make, you will model your life after your aspirations and your priorities.

By being the architect of your destiny, you also need to learn how to say a firm "no" to what does not serve the required purpose in your life. A lot of people struggle in life simply because they allow anything in their lives. You have to learn to set boundaries, and also prioritise goals and objectives, then you will be able to align effectively with your purpose. Avoid negative influences, negative environment, and even negative people. Know what to permit in your life and what to refuse. Each time you make a choice of a path to follow, you are actively creating your own world. What you do today will become the building blocks upon which your tomorrow and your future will be built.

Being the architect of your destiny or designing your life is not about assuming perfection nor is it about faking control, but it is about consciously creating and modelling your life after the manner you want it to be. Trust me, in the process, you might make mistakes, because they are almost always inevitable, but how you respond or react to them is also a product of choice. Even when challenges come your way, you have a choice to view them as obstacles or to view them as opportunities to learn, grow, and become better. Each choice is like adding bricks to your structure, which will eventually form your destiny.

You may not have been able to determine your family, your background, your history, but you have the power to change your tomorrow, to determine your future, and your destiny. You cannot stop challenges from coming your way, but you can choose to respond positively to them and turn them into your ally. Where you are coming from is not as important as where you are going to, so you have to focus more on what you want to become. Always remember that every step counts, every decision matters, and every choice is strategic towards creating your destiny.
