Everything's Online and the D*mned Ads
As the Internet grows, users tend to realize that they are losing more and more of what they are using.
Nothing is theirs, all is subscription/loans and rents... I miss the days when you download something and you have that something for you to use and keep.
It wasn't stored on some app or had to be accessed online nor did you ever have to redownload it. (Unless you deleted your previous download.)
It was yours...
- An excerpt of the argument I had with a friend a few days back about Netflix and movie subscriptions.
Today I decided to let go of a few of the games that I had downloaded, played and written a review of. Most of them, I didn't write on because it was a bit boring and drab at the time.
Regardless, today was an app redressing day and I went searching for a few games that could take my time.
After a few hours, I decided to download two games that brought a wave of nostalgia to me.
Beach Buggy Racing and Bowmasters are two games that I played early last year. Actually I played beach buggy even way before that.
Since this version I downloaded was a sequel to the adventure game and I remember already finishing the first one, I decided to download this version and kick up sand in the beaches.
First thing I noticed was that this was a strictly online game.
This first had me like... WHAT! WHY?
It's not like there was a multiplayer function like the first game had, so why strictly online?
It bummed me out, it saddened me actually, but I carried on.
Then came the ads.
The fact that there were ads in an online game that has no business being online literally made me scream after every race.
Now we look at the second game Bowmasters
I remembered this game for it's cool cartoon graphics and great animation.
It's the right amount of gore and violence that'll leave a 13-22 year old boy hooked.
At least, that was before it became strictly online and the ads had more screentime than the actual game.
Of the two games, this one is even more despicable.
In the fact that it's not just the ads, they're trying to get money out of you by any cost.
Cause why is premium a weekly payment?
Why are 70% of characters on Premium?
Why have developers and game companies become so hungry?
It's quite scary now, cause even those Internet frivolities that aren't on streamable services are getting lost, and it's sad.
Then the ads and greediness that comes with these online services are enough to make me hit my head.
Despite my sentiments, I doubt these games would last long on my phone either.
I'll probably just find a foldable chair and sit under some shade admiring the scene and reading a book.
What do you guys think about the Internet, Ads and streaming?

The applications that require internet are very annoying most of the time, although I think the constant ads are much worse, but among all that there are always applications and games that are worth the quality.
I really hate ads on game but I get it because that's their way to make money. Honestly, they can do it more strategically and maybe micro payments.

Like after every match is an ad?
Really ruins the user experience.
If you pay for the service without disturbance you will get fewer ads.
