Day 2874 | Moving To My New Condo

I started a challenge of taking 100 days off to mainly focus on my health and overall personal development and used this account as a personal blog to keep track of all my activity. I enjoyed it and continued afterward trying to build better habits and find a good balance between health, fitness, work, entertainment, and my personal life...

After 2 initial nights in what turned out a really nice hotel, I was ready to move into the new condo that I fixed the day before. I was up quite early again and initally went for a walk to further explore the area but the weather that early was already super hot and sunny so I didn't get far.

On my walk to the new condo, I dropped off my loundry of the past days which would be ready in 2 hours already. I arrived and initially had issues scanning the QR code to pay the rent, using the visa card function also didn't work (luckily as it would have been 3% more expensive), So I used my good friend ChatGPT which guided me step by step with tips to get it working which was quite the big relief and I have no clue how I would have done it without.

The condo unit is pretty spacious so I never will feel locked up but it is also not perfect. The bed linnen is blue where I would have just preferred hotel white. There is a slight smell in it as it's still new I assume, there is a van on the top which works but spins just way to fast already on the lowest setting so I won't be able to put it on at night. there also is no small night closet near the bed and the night light is too bright. Everything looks nice and clean but when looking closer most is just cheap quality. At the same time, I'm not complaining at all and am glad to be here.

I needed to make it a bit more my home so after going for a swil in the really nice rooftop swimming Pool which is perfect to do laps, I headed againg to market village on a shopping spree. I first went to Moshi Mosh, which is a really nice Japanese themed store where they had affordable scent sticks which I bought for 100 baht to hopefully make my condo smell a bit better. I went to the supermarket to get some sandals which I liked, some outmeal and vegan milk to have something to eat in the morning. Some white bed linnen (which turned out not to be the right size). A pen an paper and a small bluetooth JLB box so I can have some music in my room. on my way back, I picked up my laundry which was done perfectly so I will let it do there each time from here on out.

There was an evening festival with fireworks around Kao Thakiab Beach where I planned to walk to but there was some rain for the first time since I'm here so I had to delay it to later in the day. I walked the main road assuming it would be easy to get to the beach but I was on the wrong side and it turned out to be harder than anticipated. Eventually getting to the other side I took a small dark alleyway which I assume lead to the beach but it didn't and worse there was a house with a barking dog who ended up chasing me. On top of that it was a dead end so I again needed to pass that dog so I ran for my life trying to avoid him which slightly hurt my left knee. I'll be much more careful now going in places at night that I don't know.

As I was not getting to the beach, I instead opted to go to the cicada night market which around 20:40 was quite empty in terms of customers and tourists. Since it worked with a model of coupons to pay for the food, I opted to just walk a couple minutes further to the Tamarind market where I looked around for something to eat. I stumbled at a stand where they sold Original Pad Thai for 50 Baht and it was absolutely phenomenal

I forgot to take a picture at the start so it's already a bit mixed up. I will go back for this multiple times during my stay here. On my way back there was a magic show in Cicada Market which honestly was kind of weak so I walked back to my condo instead of taking a taxi which one again got me near 30k steps on the day.

I also installed Bumble to try and find a date possibly here but most people on there are actually from Bangkok. So I will look into that further going forward as I really dislike eating alone out in the evening.

Next Day Goals: I will further nicen my condo and want to go buy a night cabin for next to my bed with a small light on it to make it more cosy. Most likely I will visit Blueport Mall for this. I will also further explore Bumble and maybe go inform at the Muay Thai boxing gym.

Looks great. How long will you be staying there?

Quite some time until July 22nd, by that time the world cup has ended and it's only a week or so before the start of the new football season. I might make this into a yearly thing from here on out depending how it goes in the coming months.

Yeah, the swimming pool is just what I needed, very suitable to swim laps in. I'm also looking forward to starting with Muay Thai boxing also because that will allow me easier to meet some people and be a bit less lonely.
