How Aldous Huxley Predicted Our Happiness-Obsessed Society
Over the century writers has been trying to put their imagination into words through their novels and that has been a great thing to look and because people have been very interested to know about what can be the future be looking like and their have been a lot of such adaptation which we have seen from many famous writers over many years now and some of them have have got their predictions right or whatever the imagine is now a reality to a very big extent and that is something which does makes us even more fascinated about what the future from now is going to have in store for us.
There have been many popular books which are discuss for the same reason of the predictions for the imaginations that were put into words by the writer have now got into reality and one of the names that pops up in our mind is going to be 1984 by George Orwell which yearly talks a lot about the dystopian world that we live in which is farmer controlled and have a lot less authority on the individual from their side which is something that is very much true in the Modern Times.
But a part from that there are a lot of other books as well which are relatively less talked about but surely has a lot to offer in the same manner and they have been a lot of such things that have been indicated that got to be real in the present of today and one of them is going to be the book by Aldous Huxley which is known as the Brave New World. It is also a very old book that was published back in 1932 when there was nothing as social media or anything that was used to be capturing our attention in the manner that it is captured in the present and also happen is were something that was moral less under our control and was not something that was a commodity.
The writer in this book right to warn everyone about how happiness can be something which will be used in certain manner which is going to be taking our control away from us which is something that is very much visible in the modern times as we can see that our attention is very much related to all of the things that we see around us and one of the biggest example this is going to be the social media applications that we often get ourself involved in as they happened to have a very big power on deciding how our happiness is going to be like.
Happiness is something that is going to be pursued by humans all their life and it is one of the most necessary things in their life and that is why they always keep on looking for it and the government always is aware of this act and to control people they try to keep all of them entertain and make them feel happy and also for all this purpose the used a drug which was known as 'soma', this was the direct adaptation that was used in the book but in the modern times we can directly draw parallels with that to the social media applications as well as a lot of other things as well which are used by the authorities or everyone responsible for that particular things in such a man that they can control or define what happiness can be for us.
In the modern world there are a lot of options that can provide that instant gratification like that drug which was mentioned in the book that happened to have a lot of options which includes fast food as well as a lot of social media applications and many other options as well which include the streaming services and endless content as well which happened to try to make us go away from the boredom and that is how our happiness gets defined today.
There was another mention of the complete removal of Natural birth by humans and that is going to be a practice which will be completely getting eliminated in the future which was mention in the book and there is nothing that can say that it has actually happened by now but still there are a lot of such research is that have proven that it can be done and it is still been worked up on and already scientist have manage to get generating done and there have been also instant in the recent few weeks there when a very old extinct species of wolves have been brought Back To Life which is a very big similarity to what it was mentioned in the book is well.
Another thing that was mention in the book was the fact that freedom is going to be and illusion in the future because we will be shown to be someone that we are free but at the real since we are not free and that can be be thought in the present time is well because we are having the personality to choose everything for us and we can be trying to think that we are free to do whatever we want to but we controlled by everyone which is going to be visible in the form of the content that we see is served by the algorithm and everything else is also in one way or the other serve to us by a certain thing that is going to define it and it is not going to be is going to be making those decisions for us.
All in all there are a lot of similarity is that the writer tried to make people believe that it can be something that can exist in the future but at the same time he also believe that all of these things can be avoided if we stayed aware to all of the fan and that is something which was not something that happened and that is why there have been a lot of such things which happened and we happen to lose our freedom and also give away the power to stay happy on our own and make it something that people can use in their way.

Really enjoyed this. The way you connected Huxley’s ideas to today’s world is really appreciated
Thanks a lot buddy, glad you liked it
I liked A Brave New World much more than 1984 as a novel (much more interesting characters, for instance)
Also Fahrenheit 451 by R Bradbury treats similarly similar themes, though much more comprised (it's a much shorter book)
Gotta check out that one, haven't read that one yet.
Thanks for stopping by
As you said, it is less known. I have not heard of this book before. It is an interesting choice for sure.
Definitely go for it, you'd enjoy it.
