My participation in the #SMARP Contest - Round #280: World Cup Reflections [Eng/Esp]
Happy Thursday, Shadow Hunters community! I've finally found the time to calmly and diligently write my entry for this SMARP contest round #280. This week, which is now ending, we're starting our university vacation, and despite the tragedy we're experiencing in Venezuela, I can say that at least we've been given a moment of peace to calmly process what's happening after two weeks and also clear our minds of the increasingly sad news, especially now that we're in the phase of recovering the deceased from the ruins of the buildings.
That's why, when the lab's closure was announced, the first thing I did was go for coffee with my mother, who was also very stressed by the news. So we took advantage of the broadcast of the last semifinal match (Argentina vs. England) to unwind a bit. Since last week, most businesses and shops have been resuming their regular activities, and this coffee shop, just a few blocks from where we live, has become a haven for football, a way for us to reconnect and overcome this difficult time. But before going in, I noticed the shop's windows reflecting much of the city's daily life, and it seemed like the perfect image to share with you in this SMARP.
Okay, let's take a closer look at this reflection. It shows Fuerzas Armadas Avenue in downtown Caracas. This is where much of the country's political and economic activity takes place, so there are always people walking around and a lot of traffic throughout the morning and afternoon. In the first photos, I wanted to capture the Armed Forces Overpass, a historic structure that connects the north and south of the city. Below the overpass, you can see people crossing Urdaneta Avenue, which runs east to west through the city. I wanted to focus on this part of the avenue, so I went to the entrance of the café, which was also made of glass. There, you can see a bus with several motorcycles reflected in it—the city in full swing, buzzing with activity. This is my city, a city of entropic energy, with the reflection of the buildings that successfully withstood the double earthquake, continuing to stand as unwavering witnesses to the city's daily life.
We finished watching the game at the café, and although I didn't have a favorite team, we had a very enjoyable time. We really needed to unwind, and we managed to do so at this café, which, although it seemed small, had a surprisingly large screen. The bonus was that we managed to capture some great reflections during the walk, and when it comes to reflections, these are precisely my favorites—the ones that reflect people's everyday activities in the city. Feliz jueves comunidad de Shadow Hunters! Finalmente he conseguido el tiempo para escribir con calma y dedicación mi participación para este concurso SMARP round #280, esta semana que ya esta terminando estamos entrando de vacaciones en la universidad y a pesar de la tragedia que estamos pasando en Venezuela, puedo decir que al menos nos han dado un momento de tranquilidad para después de 2 semanas asimilar con más calma lo que esta pasando y también despejar la mente de las noticias que son cada vez más triste ahora que estamos en la fase de recuperación de fallecidos dentro de las ruinas de los edificios.
Por eso al anunciarse el cese de actividades en el laboratorio, lo primero que hice fue ir a tomar un café con mi madre que también estaba muy estresada por las noticias, así que aprovechamos la transmisión del último partido de la semifinal (Argentina vs Inglaterra) para despejarnos un poco. Ya desde la semana pasada la mayoría de los negocios y tiendas están retomando sus actividades regulares y esta cafetería a unas pocas cuadras de donde vivimos, el futbol se ha convertido en una válvula de escape y al mismo tiempo una forma de reencontrarnos para superar este difícil momento. Pero antes de entrar me di cuenta de los vidrios de este negocio que reflejaban mucho de las actividades cotidianas de la ciudad y me pareció que era el reflejo perfecto para traerles en este SMARP.
Bien, apreciemos con calma este reflejo, muestra la Avenida Fuerzas Armadas del centro de Caracas, aquí es donde mucha de la actividad política y económica del país sucede, por lo que siempre hay gente caminando de un lado a otro y gran cantidad de tráfico casi que a lo largo de toda la mañana y tarde. En las primeras fotos quise capturar el elevado de las Fuerzas Armadas que es un elevado histórico que conecta el norte con el sur de la ciudad y debajo del elevado se observa las personas cruzando la avenida Urdaneta que atraviesa la ciudad de este a oeste. Me quise enfocar en esta parte de la avenida asi que fui a la entrada del café que también era de vidrio y se observa un bus con varias motos reflejados, es decir la ciudad en plena ebullición y actividad, por es mi ciudad entrópica con el reflejo se los edificios que lograron soportar el doble terremoto exitosamente, para continuar siendo testigos imperturbables del día a día de la ciudad.
Terminamos de ver el partido en el café y aunque no tenía un favorito pasamos un rato bastante alegre, nos hacía mucha falta distraernos y logramos hacerlo en este café que aunque parecía pequeño tenía una pantalla bastante grande. El plus fue que logramos capturar buenos reflejos durante el paseo y cuando se trata de reflejos, mis favoritos son precisamente estos, los que reflejan las tareas cotidianas de las personas en la ciudad y ahora que tengo más tiempo libre puedo darme el tiempo de cazar este tipo de reflejos.
