A tour of the central area of Guanare [ENG/ESP]

Greetings dear friends, lovers of architecture and design, I hope you are doing well this Saturday weekend.
Today I share with you images that I got on a walk through the central area of the city of Guanare, when we made a tour from the basilica of the Coromoto located a few kilometers from this city.

We arrived at the Plaza Bolivar of Guanare where there are abundant trees and ornamental shrubs that decorate the facilities of the square. A nice fountain with a nice design very decorative but unfortunately without water. There were many people sitting on the benches chatting and enjoying the cool shade of the leafy trees.

Guanare, despite being the capital of the state of Portuguesa, still retains the original characteristics of the tradition of the people, such as the colonial houses of varied colors and a Plaza Bolivar quite nice to sit and talk and wait to be served in the medicine or in the state government.

This is also where tourists arrive first, since it is where the public authorities, the cathedral and other important institutional buildings are concentrated. Normally people go to this square when they need to ask for an address they can't find or simply to rest after a long trip.

Its climate is quite warm, although that day there was a breeze that dissipated the heat a little and when it rains it does it with a lot of force for being a place belonging to the Venezuelan plains.

Around the square you can see the Episcopal Palace, a beautiful building built in the same style as the cathedral of Guanare which is located next to it. It has a white painted façade with colonial windows with its characteristic lattice and stained glass windows. It also has a beautiful balcony above the main entrance. The whole building is in excellent condition, it looks very well preserved.

On another side of the plaza is the governor's office of the state of Portuguesa, housed in a beautiful blue and white building. The building has many tall wooden windows protected by a small metal grill. This building occupies the entire block and is guarded by constant police surveillance. It has beautiful green areas and the luminaries are placed in old lanterns very striking and decorative.

Next to the episcopal palace, the beautiful facade of the cathedral of Guanare rises imposingly, which I already told you about in detail in a previous publication, and beyond it you can see many houses with the colonial style so characteristic of this beautiful place.

Many houses with colorful facades adorn the surroundings of the Bolivar square. The warm colors with which these facades are painted are very attractive and give a very pleasant aspect to this place in the plains.

The surrounding streets are lined with gray cobblestones and the walkways are paved with cobblestones, which make the walks pleasant experiences. All this place has the greenery of nature, because there is a lot of vegetation on the facades of the buildings that adorn the perimeter of the city.

It is a pleasant experience to visit this city and sit for a while under the shade of the trees to contemplate the beautiful urban landscape that gives us this corner of Venezuela.

So far this pleasant journey through the landscapes of my country and I hope to meet you soon.
Blessings.

Bendiciones.

Guanare's Bolívar Square brings back fond memories. I visited it years ago and loved its colonial style and large trees that refresh the area. It's a busy place with comfortable benches to rest.

Greetings!

I knew that the whole area would be very special. Generally, everything around Venezuelan cathedrals is beautiful, with ancient and colonial architecture and a lot of history to discover. Thank you for sharing this. It's like taking a walk with you through those streets 🙏
