Greetings dear friends of the @Architecture community. It is a pleasure for me to be with you again to share my experiences in architecture in the city of Barquisimeto.

In recent days, I accompanied my wife to the Millenium tower, located east of the city, specifically in the urbanization El Parral.

There is located the insurance office where they attend the applications of people who are in the process of retirement and my wife is doing those procedures.

The insurance office is very nice and the people who work there are very attentive to the workers who apply for their retirement pension.

While she was at the insurance, I took some pictures of the tower to show you in this publication.

The facade of this 10-story tower is very striking because of its reddish-colored glass that reflects the sun's rays and offers beautiful shades depending on the angle at which you look at it.

On the first floor there is a large space where you can find businesses offering all kinds of products. Unfortunately the economic situation of the country has contributed in a negative way and today there are not many occupied stores.

We can also observe at the entrance of the building a very nice decoration on the roof in the form of a circle, as well as several glass doors that give access to the building.

As soon as we enter, the model appears before us where we can see the entire building on all four sides. There you can find all the information about its construction in 1998 and the names of the professionals involved in the project.

Immediately we found a small café where they offer a variety of breakfasts and then there are the escalators that take us to the mezzanine.

In the mezzanine there are other businesses where they sell photocopies, paints, stationery and other things and that is precisely where the insurance office for retired workers is located.

When we go up the stairs and look up, we can see a huge dome made of acrylic sheets in the shape of a circular paraboloid that covers the entire central area. I really like the shape of the dome and besides increasing the clarity of the area, it gives it a modern and tasteful look.

The entire floor of the first floor and mezzanine is white granite with colored edges and stripes of various shapes and colors to decorate the granite surface, which I find very decorative.

In the central core of the building on the first floor there are small kiosks distributed in linear form and the mezzanine has stainless steel tubes so that people can see down. It caught my attention that the entire central core was inoperative and with the lights off.

One of the merchants told me that it was no longer in use because of the paisa situation, people were no longer investing in renting the premises, however the structure of that part is very nice.

Un breve recorrido por la torre Millenium de Barquisimeto-Venezuela

Saludos estimados amigos de la comunidad de @Architecture. Es un gusto para mi estar nuevamente con ustedes para compartirles mis experiencias en materia de arquitectura en la ciudad de Barquisimeto.

En dias pasados, acompañé a mi esposa a la torre Millenium, ubicada al este de la ciudad, específicamente en la urbanización el Parral.

Allí se encuentra ubicada la sede del seguro donde atienden las solicitudes de las personas que están en proceso de jubilación y mi esposa esta haciendo esos trámites.

La oficina del seguro es muy agradable y las personas que allí trabajan son muy atentas al atender a los trabajadores que solicitan su pensión de jubilación.

Mientras ella estaba en el seguro, me dediqué a tomar algunas fotografías de la torre para mostrárselas en esta publicación.

La fachada de esta torre de 10 pisos es muy llamativas por sus cristales color rojizo que reflejan los rayos solares y ofrecen hermosas tonalidades dependiendo del ángulo en que se mire.

En su planta baja destaca un espacio amplio donde de encuentran negocios que ofrecen todo tipo de productos. Lamentablemente la situación económica del país ha contribuido en forma negativa y hoy día no hay muchos locales ocupados.

También podemos observar a la entrada del edificio una decoración muy bonita en el techo en forma de círculo, al igual que varias puertas de cristal que dan acceso al edificio.

Apenas al entrar aparece ante nosotros la maqueta donde podemos observar el edificio completo por sus cuatro costados. Allí se encuentra toda la información de su construcción en el año 1998 y los nombres de los profesionales involucrados en el proyecto.

Enseguida nos encontramos un pequeño café donde ofrecen desayunos variados y enseguida están las escaleras mecánicas que nos llevan a la mezzanina.

En la mezanina hay otros negocios donde sacan fotocopias, venta de pinturas, papelería y otras cosas y allí precisamente es donde esta ubicada la oficina del seguro para los trabajadores jubilados.

Cuando subimos por las escaleras y miramos hacia arriba, podemos apreciar una enorme cúpula fabricada con láminas acrílicas en forma de paraboloide circular que cubre toda el área central. Me gusta mucho la forma de la cúpula y además de aumentar la claridad de la zona, la reviste de modernismo y buen gusto.

Todo el piso de la planta baja y de la mezzanina es de granito blanco con bordes coloreados y franjas de diversas formas y colores para adornar la superficie del granito, lo cual me parece muy decorativo.

En el núcleo central del edificio en la planta baja se observan pequeños kioscos distribuidos en forma lineal y en la mezzanina posee tubos en acero inoxidable para que las personas puedan ver hacia abajo. Me llamó la atención que todo ese núcleo central estaba inoperativo y con las luces apagadas.

Uno de los comerciantes me dijo que ya no estaba en uso por la situación del paisa, ya la gente no estaba invirtiendo en el alquiler de los locales, sin embargo la estructura de esa parte es muy agradable.

Hasta aquí este recorrido por la torre Millenium, espero les haya gustado y nos volveremos a encontrar próximamente.
