This time I want to show you a tourist viewpoint that is located in my city and was built with the image of the Virgin Mary under the invocation of the divine shepherdess.

En esta oportunidad les quiero mostrar un mirador turístico que se encuentra en mi ciudad y que fue construido con la imagen de la virgen Maria bajo la advocación de la divina pastora.

This monument stands at the top of the veragacha sector at the entrance of Barquisimeto and can be seen from any point of the city showing the majestic image of the virgin.

Several weeks ago I took my family to the monument to spend some recreational time and tour its facilities, since on other occasions we had been in a hurry and did not have the opportunity to see it in its entirety.

Hace varias semanas atrás llevé a mi familia al monumento para pasar un rato de esparcimiento y recorrer sus instalaciones ya que en otras oportunidades habíamos ido muy apurados y no tuvimos la oportunidad de verlo en su totalidad.

This viewpoint was designed by several architects and two engineers of the city calculated it structurally. It is 47 meters high and 23 meters wide and the sculpture of the image is formed by thousands of aluminum tubes of 25 cm in diameter arranged vertically, so that from a distance they become the image of the divine shepherdess.

It consists of two towers that support the bridge that holds the sculpture.

In one of the towers is the access where people enter and begin to climb the stairs until they reach the level of the bridge where the first viewpoint is.

Este mirador fue diseñado por varios arquitectos y dos ingenieros de la ciudad lo calcularon estructuralmente. Mide 47 metros de altura y tiene 23 metros de ancho y la escultura de la imagen está formada por miles de tubos de aluminio de 25 cm de diámetro dispuestos en forma vertical, de tal manera que a la distancia se conviertan en la imagen de la divina pastora.
Consta de dos torres que soportan el puente que sostiene la escultura.
En una de las torres está el acceso por donde entran las personas y comienzan a subir las escaleras hasta llagar al nivel del puente donde está el primer mirador.

This 23-meter long bridge is structurally formed by metal H beams bolted at the nodes to form an armor that resists the loads generated by dead weight, wind and earthquake. The roof slab of the bridge is made of steel plates and reinforced concrete.

On top of this bridge is the last terrace surrounded by a lattice of tubes to secure the perimeter. From there you can see the city of Cabudare and Barquisimeto and is always full of people enjoying the scenery and the feeling that produces the impact of the wind in the face.

At the top of the building, the solar panels on the roof can be seen, which are used to illuminate the facilities at night, as well as reflector lamps for the same purpose.

On the first floor there is a concrete paved area where people can camp, sit and talk or just take walks before or after going up to the roof.

In other states of the country there are also viewpoints for the enjoyment of tourists, such as the Virgen de la Paz in Trujillo, but I think I am not wrong if I tell you that this one is higher.

It is a real experience to do this tour from beginning to end. Of course, to climb up to the bridge and the rooftop you have to do it continuously but resting from time to time, because older people get tired by the large number of stairs to climb.
