Digital Diary Entry: 14082025 (The end of my night strolls)

I'll have to find a better way to relieve my stress because after what happened last night, I'm too traumatized for another night stroll to be honest.
p.s if the story is too long just skip to the last paragraph you'll understand why.
So basically, I a was bored last night and decided to take a walk, it's not a new thing actually. I always go on walks I feel bored at home be it day or night, it didn't matter to me. One time I left the house around one o clock for a stroll and I was completely safe.

In most neighborhoods it's dangerous to walk at night but my neighborhood is filled with night security guards every few meters. This was how it was every single night except for last night.
Looking back, I probably should have turned back when I walked a couple miles and didn't see a single night guard but no my rock headed self decided to keep walking.

I have a friend that lives some how near to my house and I happen to pass their house so I decided to stop by and say hi. we chatted for about 30 minutes and he even took my picture, the one above before I decided it was time I headed back home, my friend then asked if he could escort me a little but I insisted that he stayed back (What was I thinking!!!😭).

Now I wasn't so far from my friends house when I started to feel like I wasn't alone like someone or something was walking behind. I removed my ear piece I was using to listen music and looked back and low and behold I wasn't alone. A girl about my age I think was not far from me also walking. Though I felt kind of relieved because she looked completely harmless but I was still conscious of her so I didn't put on my ear piece back and continued walking.
A couple steps in, I noticed she took the same turns I was taking then I got a little scared. I picked up my pace until I could no longer see her and then a few minutes later, I heard a scream from behind me, instead of me to run like a sane person I stood there trying to guess what caused the scream. I didn't stand there long before I saw the girl I had seen a while ago running towards me screaming in horror. I didn't wait for her to reach me before I started running too.

Normally, the night security guards in the area would have come to our aid but as I mentioned earlier they weren't outside tonight.

I kept running with the girl behind me also running and still screaming. Luckily, my house wasn't too far so ran in and just as I was about to close the gate I decided to wait for the girl and then the ran in after me right before I closed the gate. I didn't have to ask why she was running because as I closed the gate I saw why, it was the biggest dog I have ever seen😭😭. It was black and huge.

⚠️Dog owners can you please keep your dogs in leaches or something before going to bed⚠️.
If we hadn't run the way we did, unfortunately things would have happened.

Anyways she stayed with us for the night before headed back home in the morning.
And I learnt to make sure the guards are out before going on strolls or just stop night strolls completely.
