I Wanted the Ground to Swallow Me
I welcome you for reading this entry! Just like what we like to do every day to share our thought, ideas and experiences about things we go through in our life either in the past or presently. This will make me share my past experience on this topic
You know when something happens and all you can think is, “God, please just make me invisible”? That was me, just last week. I still cringe every time I remember it. Let me gist you
So, I was invited to this bridal shower by a friend of a friend. I didn’t really know most of the girls there, but you know as a babe, I dressed to slay. I wore this fine fitted jumpsuit, one of those that hugs your body in all the right places. I even wore heels I hadn’t “practiced” in for a while. The confidence was on 100… until everything crumbled like chin chin in a baby’s hand
Now picture this: We were playing one of those “stand up and say something funny” games. The bride-to-be called my name and said, “Come and tell us your most embarrassing crush story.” I stood up with small shyness and walked to the center. That’s when it happened
As I took the third step forward, I felt something snap not on my heels, not on my jewelry, but right at the back of my jumpsuit. Yes. The zip. Gave way. Wide open
I froze
You know that silence that’s louder than a generator in the middle of the night? That was the room. One babe gasped, another started giggling. I turned my head slowly, praying it was my imagination. Nope. My entire back was exposed bra and all😭
I tried to casually back out of the room like a thief caught in the act. I even laughed as if I planned it. Deep down, I wanted the floor to open and swallow me to another continent. My body was hot, cold, and numb all at the same time. What saved me? One sweet girl rushed to cover me with her scarf while another helped me zip it back up. But the damage was already done. Respect? Finished. Ego? Gone
When I got home, I lay on my bed replaying the moment over and over again like a bad Nollywood movie. I thought of deleting all my social media just in case someone uploaded a video. Thankfully, nobody did
Anyway, lesson learned: Always test your outfit before stepping out, and carry a small safety pin in your bag if you're wearing anything zipped. Also, never underestimate how fast embarrassment can humble you even with full makeup and confidence
I still can’t laugh fully about it, but at least now, I have a story to share that makes others laugh. If this has ever happened to you, please tell me I’m not alone😩
I hope I've been able to make you laught😂🤣 small with my story
***Thanks for reading through, Until next time! Bye.
Love you all💛🧡💛

This is interesting oo, and it's kind of making me laugh here too, I can't imagine how embarrassed you will felt that day. It will really be as if you should just disappear from the party instantly as you said. But I'm sure you wouldn't there make same mistakes next time by not preparing yourself anytime you have that kind event, even if the cloth you'll wear is safe.
I don’t even see myself going for a bridal shower where I don’t know all the girls. It’s really not nice that someone even tried to laugh at you. I’m so sorry for that experience.
Thank you, I never see what is coming, I attended the party through friend friend just to catch fun
