THE DAY PLAYING THE FOOL TAUGHT ME A VALUABLE LESSON OVER GETTING A JOB

Hello everyone, your welcome to my blog

The day I became a fool again it happened that after graduating from the university as a fresh graduate I thought it was going to be easy to get a job .I searched for a job for quite a very long time it was a struggle for me to manage my finance because I had no help coming in apart from my mom and my sister who supported me in their own little way.

A girl always has to do something to keep body and soul together, I had my own needs and so many other things to sort out so I looked for a job in a hospital but the pay was just too little, Amaka a friend of mine who was already working in the hospital was the person who introduced me to them and asked me to come and apply for the post of a receptionist in the hospital that's I would get the job. But I didn't know that the pay was going to be so little so j had to let go of the job. I got so many other opportunity but they were two-time demanding and the pay was still not enough I had to leave out looking for job last year.

On this faithful day I couldn't even sleep all through the night ,because I was just thinking about the interview that I had the next day I've had a lot of people talk about the man in question who is Mr abayomi he was strict and had a way of making people feel less of themselves and close to my little file where I parked my credentials type with my chest that. I left the house and boarded it hardly to get to the place of interview the next morning.

The building was not what I expected it was well organized more than I expected the building looked very beautiful . I had a very long night of going through possible interview questions and answers just so that I wouldn't flop on the day of my interview and well wearing my borrowed confidence and standing in front of the glass doors I just had to open them and go in to whatever my fate is.

One particular line that kept on coming up in my head is the question where would you see yourself in the next 5 years ? Well I had to be very tactical about it so that I would sound intelligent while answering that question.

This job mattered a lot to me because it wasn't the first job I applied for years but but it was the first one that looks like he had something in store for me in the future and I just didn't want to mess it up in any way. I wanted to let everyone know that I was ready to take charge of my life and that I knew what I was doing for my future. Foolishness is something I believe shouldn't be present in a place where the future is decided.

When I entered the office I was asked to take a seat in the reception so I sat down there with some other people who also came for the interview after about 10 of them had gone in and come out .My name was called out from across the hall I stood up straightened my clothes and follow the receptionist she took me to a conference hall where two interviewers where already waiting for me smiling politely as I entered and join them the offered me a sit to sit down and I did.

Then the interviews began calmly with simple questions like what are your name? what are your interest? where are you from ?which school did you study? and so on i answered everything perfectly from my already rehearsed lines over the night and my borrowed confidence which increased with every question I answered.

Then the main question that hit me when I least expected is when one of the interviewers asked "How do you think our core analytics system can positively influence our prospective client decision-making"
At this point I went to blank but I regained my composure immediately. The truth is that it's my first time coming to this company and in as much as I made my research about the company I wasn't able to answer that particular question at that point I needed to work with them to be able to know the perfect answer to the question, so instead of answering I decided to play the fool.

I told the interviewers that I wasn't able to explain that because I needed to work with them to know how the system works. Well at that point I was ready for anything that came I thought they would be disappointed in me but I saw a smile come up on their faces and they said this has been the most honest answer they have gotten so far , many other people have claimed to have known the answer trying to impress them ,but I didn't do any of that.

They explained the question they asked very well to me and I understood it perfectly but I didn't get the job because someone else who had more experience than I got it. What i learnt is that there comes the time in your life when you have to play a fool just to learn something you do not know just like I did with the interviewers. Even though I didn't get the job i got more knowledge and experience.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today.

You went home wth a valuable lesson, which is that a person can act like a fool for a little while and still become wise thereafter. You did well and wishing you the best in life's journey.

Sometimes we just need to be honest and not go about lying in order to get the job.

Although you did not get the job, you got more informed. You got more knowledge. And that was because you were sincere enough to admit you didn't know the answer to the question. I hope you get a good job in no distant time.
