Live 100 years but live well.
The other day I was walking and saw an advertisement for a conference that talked about extending life. The slogan was that "immortal man had already been born." Of course, by immortality, they mean that he could live 1,000 years or something similar, not that he couldn't be killed.
And this made me reflect on what it means to live so long and, above all, how one would live all that time.

My somewhat distrustful nature makes me think the conference is just trying to sell some miracle products or therapies for eternal youth. Something like what happened with miracle drinks or ointments in the Old West.
But the fact that we live longer is a fact; more and more people are also living past 100. But how we reach those ages is key because medicine is constantly advancing, but just because people survive doesn't mean they're living with quality of life.
We must grow old, but without illness and enjoying every stage of life. I don't know if we'll ever find the pill for eternal youth, but in the meantime, we must take care of ourselves if we want to have an old age that lives up to the rest of our lives.
The real challenge isn't longevity, but quality. Perhaps the true secret lies not in finding the elixir of youth, but in mastering the art of graceful aging.
