From Havana with Hive: Memories at the Hotel Nacional
Yesterday I visited the iconic Hotel Nacional de Cuba, a place that not only holds history but also inspires art and human connection.
I went there to meet with wonderful people from the Hive community, and what I experienced was far more than just a casual visit.
The hotel’s entrance welcomed me with its timeless elegance; this building, inaugurated in 1930, has witnessed historic conferences, legendary artists, and moments that helped shape Cuba.
As I walked around the grounds, I came across a scene that truly moved me: a child playing in a fountain. I took two photos that captured that pure innocence, that artistic moment that appears without warning. It was one of those reminders that true beauty lives in the everyday.
The hotel’s garden is a green haven in the heart of Havana. There, I was surprised to see a peacock calmly strolling among the palm trees, blending naturally into the landscape.
I also took a photo of the hotel from the back, where the architecture merges beautifully with the tropical vegetation.
From that spot, the views of the Malecón are simply breathtaking. The sea, the breeze, the city stretching out before you… everything invites reflection, writing, and creativity.
The most special part was meeting with Hive members. We shared ideas, dreams, and projects. I felt part of something bigger -a community that believes in freedom, creativity, and the power of every voice. It was a gathering full of energy, warmth, and vision.
If you ever visit Havana, don’t miss this magical place. And if you’re part of Hive, I’d love to hear if you’ve had similar meetups in your city.
