ENGLAND, BATH - an exclusive resort of the English aristocracy, the only English city with thermal springs.
In the west of England on the Atlantic coast is the historic city of Bath.I visited Bath during two stays in England, in 2015 and 2025.When I arrived in Bath, I had the feeling that I was entering a city that is both history and elegance. I always knew it was the exclusive resort of the English aristocracy, but it wasn't until I stepped onto its streets that I realized why it has attracted nobility, artists and curious travelers for centuries. It is the only town in England with natural thermal springs.I found out that the water from the spring emerges from the depth of the earth heated naturally and that its temperature reaches about 46 degrees. I was fascinated by how, even in ancient times, people knew how to appreciate the healing power of thermal water.

I continued my walk towards the famous Royal Crescent. This semicircular row of elegant honey-stone houses is one of the most famous examples of Georgian architecture in England.I remembered that it was in Bath that Jane Austen lived and wrote, and her novels often depict the social life of the elite of the time.

Nearby is The Circus, a circular square surrounded by monumental buildings. I walked slowly, looking up at the facades decorated with columns and reliefs. Everything is symmetrical, thoughtful and grandiose.I also walked along the Avon River, crossing the Pulteney Bridge, a bridge with shops that resembles Italian Renaissance bridges.I stopped a few times to take photos and simply soak up the scenery. Bath captivated me with its harmony. I have never seen a modern building that disrupts the look of the city. Everything is the same tone of stone.By the way, the river that flows through Bath is the Avon.

Bath won me over with its harmony. I have never seen a modern building that spoils the appearance of the city. Everything is in the same tone of stone.I understood why it was a favorite resort of the aristocracy for centuries – people come here to see and be seen, but also to find inner peace. As I left the city, I turned once more to its golden facades. I felt grateful to have had the opportunity to experience a place where history is not only preserved in museums, but lives on at every turn.
