This is my post for #freewriters 2718 prompt entertain the rabbit hosted by @mariannewest

With a prompt like this one, I will give one guess as to who I am writing about. If you guess Rudy, you win the prize. I can not begin to tell you the joy that little guy brings. He has even started talking to me. I never knew rabbits could make a sound. I wish I could describe what it sounds like, but I will try. He makes a clicking and humming sound at the same time, it is the cutest thing.

I will walk up to his pen and say, "hey Rudy, how's my baby doing?". Then he runs over to me and starts clicking/humming. Look at the bare spot on the side of his face, just above his nose, to the right. A couple of days ago, something scared him, and he went wild, running around his cage, and a few times he ran into the wire. It made a sore on his face, and I feel so bad. I want to put something on the inside of his cage so this will not happen again, but I do not know what I can use so he can still get air and not eat what I put there.

Yesterday I opened the cage door and stuck my head inside. He ran up to me and put his nose up to mine, and then rubbed the side of my face with his face. I think he was trying to hug me. I could feel his love.

My husband is hurt because Rudy will not play with him anymore. He used to play with Rudy every day, but stopped. He would put his hand in the cage and walk his fingers toward Rudy. Rudy would run but then turn and come back for his hand, and my husband would withdraw his hand like he was running from him. It was like they were playing a game of tag.

It is not hard for me to entertain the rabbit, but it is for my husband. I told him he should have given him more attention when he was young, and maybe he could get lovings and play with him like I do.

I love you Rudy and I know you love me. My husband said someone should do a study on me and Rudy. He said this because a mother rabbit is only with her babies for a short while. When the babies are young she is only with them to feed them, for the rest of the day she is gone, so they do not grow up getting love from their mother and by the time they are his age, they are on their own. Rudy not only gets love, he shows it back.

I never knew a wild rabbit could show love, but I guess it is like any animal or even people, it comes down to how they are raised.
