Top 10 Most Popular Anime Openings
This post is written in both English and Spanish.
ENGLISH:
Hello, Hive friends.
Today is "Three Tunes Tuesday", but I didn't want to just talk about three songs today, so I'm going to mention the "Top 10 Most Popular Anime Openings".
I asked an AI to make me a list of the 10 anime openings most loved by the community, and these are the songs it chose, which it says have resonated most with fans of Japanese animation.
Without further ado, here is the list.
10. My Dearest – Guilty Crown (2011)
Performed by supercell with vocals by Koeda, who was chosen from among 2,000 candidates at the age of just 15. This song blends rock and electronic music to reflect the internal struggle and drama of the protagonist Shu in a dystopian Japan. Fun fact: the opening is sung in episode 2 within the story, an original way of integrating it.
9. Inferno – Fire Force (2019)
Mrs. GREEN APPLE brings us this energetic rock mix that captures the intensity of supernatural firefighting battles. It's so catchy that it became an anthem for anime fans, and the band gained a lot of fame thanks to it.
8. The World – Death Note (2006)
Nightmare created a dark and mysterious theme, perfect for the psychological duel between Light and L. The unsettling atmosphere of the opening reflects the constant tension of the series very well.
7. Blue Bird – Naruto Shippuden (2007)
Ikimono Gakari delivered a melodic and nostalgic song that accompanies the growth and maturity of Naruto and his friends. It is one of the most beloved and recognizable opening themes, and it is one of my personal favorites.
6. Silhouette – Naruto Shippuden (2014)
KANA-BOON contributed a rocking, motivational song that became an anthem of triumph for many fans. It was used in one of the most exciting story arcs, and its infectious rhythm still cheers up fans today.
5. Shinzou wo Sasageyo – Attack on Titan (2017)
Linked Horizon created this powerful military anthem that has become a symbol of resistance and sacrifice. Its epic chorus and martial rhythm make it impossible not to feel the adrenaline rush.
4. Kaikai Kitan – Jujutsu Kaisen (2020)
Eve blends pop and rock with a modern twist to reflect the youthful and supernatural energy of anime. The song went viral and is very popular on TikTok and social media.
3. Unravel – Tokyo Ghoul (2014)
TK from Ling Tosite Sigure composed this melancholic and emotional opening theme, with a passionate voice that expresses the suffering and duality of the protagonist. It is one of the most iconic and covered opening themes, and I would say it is my all time favorite.
2. Gurenge – Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019)
LiSA delivered a vibrant and powerful song that reflects Tanjiro's determination. It was a massive hit, winning awards and ranking high on the charts for months.
1. Idol – Oshi no Ko (2023)
YOASOBI combines bright pop with lyrics that explore fame and its dark side, fitting perfectly with the anime's storyline. Its catchy rhythm and modern production make it very appealing to new generations.
And so we come to the end of this list created by Perplexity. As we've seen, each of these openings has its own charm: whether it's nostalgia, animation, or that song that sticks in your head. Openings are an essential part of the otaku experience and often leave as big an impression on us as the stories themselves.
Do you have a favorite opening that I didn't mention? Tell me about it in the comments, and let's keep sharing the hype!

10. My Dearest – Guilty Crown (2011)
8. The World – Death Note (2006)
5. Shinzou wo Sasageyo – Attack on Titan (2017)
2. Gurenge – Kimetsu no Yaiba (2019)
1. Idol – Oshi no Ko (2023)

Unravel is truly a master piece and I have not heard anything like this before. I am truly happy with the lists you have it makes me smile.
Thank you 😊 This list is not entirely from my authorship, but I liked it too.
I agree with you, Unravel is a master piece. I would say it is my all time favorite.
Guilty Crown is so nostalgic!!! I like all the songs listed here, but I remember having My Dearest, Inferno, Silhouette, Blue Bird and Unravel on repeat back in the days... XD Well, Gurenge, too... but I like LiSa's Crossing Field (SAO).
I also like Crossing Field, even when I haven't watched SAO 😅
Maybe I'm too old for me the most popular opening are the ones of Evangelion, Slam dunk and GTO 🤣
Well, popular music changes as time passes by 😅 But I understand what you say. "A cruel angel's thesis" is an all time classic, and I should make a post about the openings from older anime.
Yes!!! 😍😍 It must be cool a post about older anime opening by the way also new anime have some good openings 💖💖
I've made a post about the music on "Sentai Daishikkaku", you should take a look. Maybe you like it hahaha.
"Unravel" is a song that gives everyone goosebumps. TK's terrifying voice and that emotional melody blend together, perfectly capturing the mood of Tokyo Ghoul. A truly amazing opening.
!INDEED, it is. My personal favorite anime opening.
