It's been a while since I've talked to you about any Isekai anime, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to remind you how generic and overused this genre or demographic is in the current anime industry. I dismissed the series I'm bringing you today at the time because I was fed up with so many generic Isekai anime and talking about yet another one didn't excite me at all. However, I considered it for a while due to the simple fact that it's a kind of mix between Super Sentai and Isekai elements. You know, that huge superhero franchise that originated in Japan a long time ago and was so popular that there's even an American version of it (Power Rangers).

This would be the only appealing thing about this anime, as it mixes elements of science fiction and action that made the Super Sentai franchise popular in the 1970s in Japan, with its colorful costumes, special effects, mechas, and kaijus, with everything we know about the Isekai genre, with its fantastic worlds, magic, monsters, and demons. But let's not expect it to be anything special, since, like any other Isekai anime, it has a somewhat generic plot and characters. Starting with the protagonist, who, from the beginning, is presented to us as an invincible hero with a power that even the characters of this magical world cannot understand.

Ya pasó un tiempo que no les he hablado sobre algún anime Isekai, así que pensé que esta ocasión sería perfecta para recordar lo genérico y explotado que está este género o demografía de la industria actual del anime. La serie que les traigo hoy la descarté en su momento ya que estaba harto de tantos animes Isekai genéricos y hablar de otro más no me emocionaba para nada. Sin embargo, lo consideré por un tiempo debido al simple hecho de ser una especie de mezcla entre Super Sentai con elementos Isekai. Ya saben, esa enorme franquicia de superhéroes que nació en Japón hace mucho y que fue tan popular que hasta existe una versión americana de ella (Power Rangers).

Esto sería lo único atractivo de este anime al mezclar elementos de la ciencia ficción y la acción que volvió popular a la franquicia de Super Sentai en los años 70 en Japón, con sus trajes coloridos, efectos especiales, mechas y kaijus; con todo lo que conocemos del género Isekai con sus mundos fantásticos, magia, monstruos y demonios. Pero de resto tampoco esperemos que sea la gran cosa ya que, como cualquier otro anime Isekai, posee una trama y unos personajes un tanto genéricos. Empezando por el protagonista que, desde el principio, se nos presenta como un héroe invencible con un poder que ni siquiera los mismos personajes de este mundo mágico pueden entender.

After the striking introduction of the colorful team of superheroes and the sudden disappearance of their leader, Tōgo Asagaki (Kizuna Red) now finds himself in a medieval fantasy world with no way to return home. Months pass, and we see how a sorceress named Idola Avom and her butler gather a large group of adventurers. They are given the mission of facing the Golem created by Idola, but none of them manage to harm it. After many attempts, Tōgo appears and transforms into Kizuna Red in front of the sorceress and the others, defeating the Golem with a single blow.

Surprised by this, Idola decides to hire Tōgo to investigate the origin of his inexplicable power. However, this peculiar pair will face many challenges and problems as they embark on a journey in this fantastic world. The way in which the plot of this anime develops is most interesting to note, as it does not limit itself to explaining everything, but rather gives us a brief introduction to the characters and then we see a plot twist, only to find out that it is actually just another Isekai among many. After this, the anime shows us endless adventures without stopping.

Although it may not seem like it, this gives us a whole series of events that are very different from what we are used to seeing in any other Isekai. For example, his great and inexplicable power allows him to fight any type of monster or villain in this world. And unlike common protagonists or heroes, Red stands out for having a somewhat peculiar way of fighting and defeating his enemies.

The plot itself develops over the course of the episodes, as do its main characters. On the one hand, we have Idola Avom, a sorceress who seeks to redeem her family's reputation by becoming the best sorceress in this world. Her encounter with Red is a sign that she can investigate and discover a source of power that would completely change the world of magic. But all this becomes complicated when they meet Princess Teltina Liz Wagrel Alvarost, who seeks to capture the demonic seeds that turn people into dangerous monsters.

Sin embargo, a diferencia de la mayoría de otros animes Isekai, en este conocemos a un protagonista que ya es un héroe predefinido desde mucho antes de ser transportado a este mundo de fantasía. Esto, aunque no lo parezca, nos da toda una serie de eventos muy distintos a lo que ya estamos acostumbrados a ver en cualquier otro Isekai. Por poner un ejemplo, su gran e inexplicable poder le permite combatir con cualquier tipo de monstruo o villano de este mundo. Y a diferencia de los protagonistas o héroes comunes, Red se destaca por tener una forma un tanto peculiar de pelear y vencer a sus enemigos.

La trama como tal se desarrolla con el paso de los episodios, al igual que sucede con sus personajes principales. Por un lado tenemos a Idola Avom que es una hechicera que busca redimir la reputación de su familia convirtiéndose en la mejor hechicera de este mundo. Su encuentro con Red es señal de que puede investigar y descubrir una fuente de poder que cambiaría por completo el mundo de la magia. Pero todo esto se complica cuando conocen a la princesa Teltina Liz Wagrel Alvarost, quien busca capturar las semillas demoníacas que convierten a la gente en monstruos peligrosos.

In this world where power and talent are everything, an adventurer from another world comes to challenge the laws that exist in this fantastic place forever. Red's personality is very much that of a generic protagonist, more specifically that of a typical energetic, cheerful, and positive leader. Personally, I find this type of protagonist a bit tedious. The only good thing about this character is that, when he shows and explains the source of his power, it is very difficult to find meaning in it, let alone take seriously everything he says and does. However, I won't deny that his development throughout the anime isn't too bad.

The protagonist pulls out of nowhere a mecha that works with the power of the "bonds" he has with his current companions. Yes, the "power of bonds" is the source of all the inexplicable strength that Tōgo Asagaki possesses, as ambiguous as that may sound. When I heard this, it made me laugh, to be honest. At that moment, I decided that this anime was just a simple satire of both the Super Sentai franchise and its protagonists. However, the more episodes I watched, the more I realized that this whole joke was actually true, especially at the end.

En este mundo donde el poder y el talento lo es todo, un aventurero de otro mundo viene a desafiar las leyes que existen en este fantástico lugar para siempre. La personalidad de Red es muy de protagonistas genéricos, más en específico de un típico líder enérgico, alegre y positivo. En lo personal, me genera un poco de pesadez este tipo de protagonistas. Lo único bueno de este personaje es que, al momento de mostrar y explicar la fuente de su poder es muy difícil buscarle el sentido y menos la seriedad a todo lo que dice y hace. Sin embargo, no voy a negar que el desarrollo que le dan a lo largo del anime no está tan mal.

El protagonista saca de la nada un mecha que funciona con el poder de los “lazos” que él tiene con sus actuales compañeros. Si, el “poder de los lazos” es la fuente de toda la fuerza inexplicable que posee Tōgo Asagaki, por muy ambiguo que suene esto. Yo cuando escuché esto no me causó otra cosa que risa, la verdad. En ese instante me hice la idea de que este anime era solo una simple sátira tanto de la franquicia Super Sentai como también de sus protagonistas. Sin embargo, mientras más episodios veía, más me daba cuenta de que todo este chiste en realidad era cierto, sobre todo al final.

Despite everything, one thing I won't deny is how entertaining it was to watch this anime when it aired. The absurd way in which they defeat their enemies and explain the source of their powers and abilities can be considered satirical humor. This, added to the many action scenes and battles with mechas, monsters, and demons, makes each episode a complete adventure. The secondary characters are not far behind, especially Princess Teltina and her great bodyguard Rosie Mist. The battles themselves are not that great, but they fulfill the little that one expects from this Isekai very well.

Despite the satire, ironic jokes, references, and absurd scenes, it is still an entertaining anime, at least for those looking for some adventure and action in a fantasy story with a Sentai Red as the protagonist. If I had to mention something negative that I may have overlooked, it would be the Fanservice in this anime, although that's nothing new in a generic Isekai. This, along with the usual clichés, makes this anime one of the most predictable you can find today. However, the Sentai theme itself does generate some interest.

A pesar de todo, algo que no voy a negar es lo entretenido que fue ver este anime en emisión. La forma tan absurda de vencer a sus enemigos y de explicar la fuente de sus poderes y habilidades se puede considerar como humor satírico. Esto, sumado a las muchas escenas de acción y batallas con mechas, monstruos y demonios que tiene hacen de cada episodio una completa aventura. Los personajes secundarios tampoco se quedan atrás, sobre todo la princesa Teltina y su gran guardaespaldas Rosie Mist. Las batallas como tal no son la gran cosa, pero cumple muy bien con lo poco que uno espera de este Isekai.

A pesar de las sátiras, los chistes irónicos, las referencias y las escenas absurdas que tiene; eso no quita que sea un anime entretenido, al menos para los que buscan algo de aventura y acción en una historia fantástica con un Sentai Red de protagonista. Si es de mencionar algo negativo que se me haya pasado por alto sería el Fanservice que tiene este anime, aunque no es nada nuevo en un Isekai genérico del montón. Esto, junto con los típicos clichés de siempre hacen de este anime de lo más predecible que se pueda encontrar actualmente. Aunque el tema de los Sentai como tal genera cierto interés.

Last but not least, let's talk about the audiovisual aspect of this anime. Although it's clear that it's a low-budget anime, I can't deny that it has very good animation. Especially when it comes to character design, the art style and the bright, vivid color palette are particularly noteworthy. The mix of traditional animation with CGI elements doesn't look too bad, as is the case with the Mecha or Sentai Red's weapons. The anime perfectly captures the essence of Super Sentai from its very first episode.

The animation style isn't the best out there, but at least it achieves a very acceptable result for the type of anime it is. The same goes for its fluidity, which is very simple with basic visual and movement effects and without much budget or production. The anime reaches its peak quality in the battles, as expected. The sound effects are well added, standing out especially in the character of Red with his weapons or combat equipment. The soundtrack is also not far behind, achieving a good balance between the fantastic and that nostalgic Super Sentai melody. Anyway, I leave this Isekai for those who want to see it.

Personally, I give it a rating of 8/10 in terms of the fantasy, action, comedy, and adventure genres.

Por último, pero no menos importante, hablemos ahora del apartado audiovisual que tiene este anime. Si bien se nota que es un anime de poco presupuesto, no voy a negar que tiene una muy buena animación. Sobre todo en lo que respecta al diseño de los personajes, el estilo de arte y la paleta de colores vivos y brillantes que tiene son de lo más destacable. La mezcla de animación tradicional con elementos hechos por CGI no se ven tan mal como digamos, como por ejemplo es el caso del Mecha o las armas de Sentai Red. El anime logra capturar de forma perfecta la esencia de Super Sentai desde su primer episodio.

El estilo de animación que tiene no es el mejor que hay, pero al menos consigue un resultado muy aceptable para el tipo de anime que es. Esto sucede igual con su fluidez, la cual es de lo más sencillo con efectos visuales y de movimiento básicos y sin tanto presupuesto o producción. El anime consigue un punto máximo de calidad en las batallas, como era de esperarse. Los efectos de sonido están bien agregados, destacándose sobre todo en el personaje de Red con sus armas o equipos de combate. La banda sonora tampoco se queda atrás consiguiendo un buen equilibrio entre lo fantástico y esa melodía nostálgica de Super Sentai. En fin, les dejo este Isekai para el que desee verlo.

Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 8/10 en lo que respecta al género de fantasía, acción, comedia y aventura.
