Tomorrow marks the final exam of the session, and after that, the kids will have about a two-week break. Everything has gone well so far, and I’m confident Gurseerat will secure good marks. She is already so excited for the next session there is always that special thrill for kids when they get their new school uniforms, books, stationery, and bags. She is even planning to spend a week visiting her cousins during the holidays.
​Yesterday, however, she was a bit upset because a link in her bicycle chain broke, leaving her unable to ride. She is been persistently asking me to fix it today, but since I don’t have the right tools, I told her we did take it to the repair shop tomorrow or the day after. I suggested that since she’ll be away with her cousins soon, there’s no urgent rush, but she really wants it fixed now. I’ll see if I can find some free time this evening to get it sorted for her.

कल इस सत्र की अंतिम परीक्षा है और इसके बाद बच्चों की लगभग दो सप्ताह की छुट्टियाँ होंगी। अब तक सब कुछ बहुत अच्छा रहा है और मुझे पूरा विश्वास है कि गुरसीरत अच्छे अंक प्राप्त करेगी। वह अगले सत्र के लिए अभी से बहुत उत्साहित है, बच्चों के लिए नए स्कूल यूनिफॉर्म, किताबें, स्टेशनरी और बैग मिलने का एक अलग ही रोमांच होता है। छुट्टियों के दौरान उसने एक सप्ताह अपने चचेरे भाई-बहनों के साथ बिताने की योजना भी बनाई है।

​हालाँकि, कल वह थोड़ी परेशान थी क्योंकि उसकी साइकिल की चेन का एक लिंक टूट गया था, जिससे वह उसे चला नहीं पा रही है। वह मुझसे आज ही इसे ठीक करने की लगातार जिद कर रही है, लेकिन मेरे पास सही औजार न होने के कारण, मैंने उससे कहा कि हम कल या परसों इसे मरम्मत की दुकान पर ले जाएँगे। मैंने उसे समझाया कि चूँकि वह जल्द ही अपने कजिन्स के पास जाने वाली है, इसलिए अभी इतनी जल्दी क्या है, लेकिन वह अभी ही इसे ठीक करवाने पर अड़ी हुई है! मैं देखूँगा कि अगर आज शाम को मुझे थोड़ा खाली समय मिला, तो मैं उसके लिए इसे ठीक करवा दूँ।
