Science Is Powerful, But Should We Do Everything?.

We know that science is a beautiful thing , let us not just lie... Science has helped us in so many kind of ways from curing sicknesses, improving our communication, and also even making life more comfortable , but at this point, I so honestly feel like science is starting to do too much... Ehn.. yeah you heard that.See not everything that is possible should be done you know?, and it is starting to feel like people are using science to just change what God has already perfected you get?

So let’s take a look at this new thing trending ,where we see both men and women are changing their physical features like it is nothing, you know that before now, we used to hear that only women doing surgeries for breast enlargement, bum bum lift, nose shaping, all those kind of things. but now , even men have entered the the game, Men are now doing nose surgeries , jaw reshaping, and even facelifts just to look in a certain type of way, Some go as far as doing surgery on their stomach to get six-packs without gymimg ,Like, how did we get here? Omo...

See this issue of changing how you were born has now become a full-blown lifestyle , there is no more contentment with how you look anymore , everybody just wants to adjust something, but why Is it like that? Why must it be like that? Is it because of social media pressure? Or what? Or are we now just trying to play God with our bodies? Like I don't get ?

And then, let me not even start with this whole transgender thing.... That one is another case if you ask me, so one day, I was on YouTube just watching random videos and I stumbled on a surgical procedure showing how a man’s private part is removed and reshaped to look like a woman’s own . I was shook o, Omo lol ... I was afraid like , me that don't even like anything hospital, I had to pause the video , i couldn’t continue it, my chest started paining me somehow , I was like "how are people even comfortable doing this ehn?"

Even in Nigeria here, we even have people like Bobrisky , the well-known crossdresser ,well, let me just say transgender, since that’s what he now identifies as, I read somewhere that he went as far as removing his male organ, like, completely removed it, all in the name of becoming a woman , see me , I honestly don't to believe it because that part still shocks me, because it just feels like you are telling God that the way he created you isn't good enough, and that is not even something to joke about at all.

Science has made all these things possible for some reasons like medical issues , because there are cases of people with medical issues that need the surgery but I feel like we have gone too far with it Yes,see I do know that people have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies , but at what point do we say that “This is enough?” Should we really be changing our gender or our entire face just because science now allows it? Ehn?

Like the way it is going now, people are no longer doing these changes because of health reasons but mostly for attention you get? ,beauty standards, or identity crisis. It is almost like people are now competing to see who can look the most artificial or something, and let me not lie, it is somehow kind of scary.

So after this what’s next? Do we start editing our children before they are born? Abi? Oh wait o.. I heard science is already doing that too, ah! Omo.... You can now choose how you want your baby to look before the child is even born... Imagine that.

See me I just feel like there needs to be a line somehow, we know Science is good, yes, but when it starts making people lose their identity or disconnect from their natural self, then it is no longer a blessing, it is now like a burden.

At the end of the day , I think we need to ask ourselves a question, “Is this thing really necessary?, or are we just doing it because we can?” Because once you start changing too many things about yourself, the question is who are you, really?
