My Experience With Astral Wars By Surgent Gaming Studio!
Astral Wars My Journey as an Investor Not a Gamer
I’m not reviewing Astral Wars today as a gamer, so if you’re here for gameplay insights, this post might not be for you. Instead, I’m sharing my experience as an investor in this project, focusing on my trust in the founder, Spiritsurge, and the community behind it.
Why I Invested in Spiritsurge Not Just the Product
When I invest in a project, I don’t just look at the product. I invest in the community and the founders. The product itself is secondary to me. With this mindset, I want to share that I didn’t directly invest in Surgent Gaming’s project, Astral Wars. Instead, I put my faith in its founder, Spiritsurge, several months ago. Honestly, it’s been so long that I even forgot about the gaming assets I had stashed away.
I bought ASTRA tokens in the early days when HIVE’s price was much higher, around $50 worth of ASTRA or a bit more. Back then, one ASTRA was 0.01 HIVE, and it still is today. But we all know how much HIVE’s price has dropped since then. By staking these ASTRA tokens, I’ve been receiving STELLARUM airdrops regularly. Did you know that 100,000 STELLARUM can get you a mythic NFT in Astral Wars? I didn’t know that at first, and during the early stages, before the game’s launch, I sold quite a bit of my STELLARUM because I wasn’t aware of its use case.
Learning the Value of STELLARUM and Staying Committed
Now that I understand STELLARUM’s value, I’ve made a firm decision. I haven’t sold a single ASTRA token since. Over the past months, I’ve faced plenty of ups and downs in life, and there were moments when I considered selling my ASTRA. But since I had set aside roughly $50 to support Spiritsurge, I didn’t touch them. On top of that, I’ve staked 10,568.45 ASTRA in another project called PAKX. With the STELLARUM airdrops from that, I’m planning to buy more mythic NFTs.
One thing I really like about ASTRA is their plan to share a small percentage of Play Store and App Store sales profits with ASTRA holders as revenue in the near future, or maybe it’s already implemented, correct me if I’m wrong. Down the line, when the value of these mythic NFTs rises, I might think about what to do with the money. But for now, Astral Wars isn’t as popular among Hivers as games like RisingStar or Splinterlands. Most of the investors are still within the HIVE ecosystem, so bringing in money from outside ecosystems is something for the future. That said, I trust Spiritsurge completely. I believe he can attract investors from outside and bring them into the HIVE ecosystem, even if he hasn’t fully done so yet.
My Bullish Outlook on Astral Wars Future
By now, you can probably tell how bullish I am about this game’s future. Spiritsurge has my full confidence, and I’m excited to see where this project goes. Let’s take a quick look at the NFT opening screen for Astral Wars to get a feel for it.

My NFT Haul from XP Crates and More
I opened some XP Crates a while back, and here’s what I got. Just a heads-up: most of these in-game assets were bought using the STELLARUM I earned from ASTRA token airdrops. I only invested a small amount of my own money, and that was so long ago I barely remember the details.
Here are the NFTs I got from the XP Crates:

My Experience with Astral Wars Gameplay and Learning Curve
When I played Astral Wars during its alpha testing phase, I found the learning curve quite challenging. The gameplay felt complex to me. There were so many moves and strategies to grasp. With limited card options, a restricted deck, and not just attack moves but combo moves too, it was a lot to take in. However, thanks to user feedback, the game tutorial has improved significantly. The documentation now explains what’s happening in the game much more clearly, which makes the experience easier to navigate.
Wrapping Up Let’s Hear from You
Overall, my journey with Astral Wars has been more about my belief in Spiritsurge and the potential I see in this project rather than the gameplay itself. I’m excited about what’s to come, especially with the direction Spiritsurge is taking to grow the game and bring in more investors. Spiritsurge has always wanted this game to focus more on players rather than just investors. Do you think he’ll steer Astral Wars to be more player focused over time? We’ve all seen how NFT projects often attract non players who jump in to profit from the game’s economy. I’m curious to see how Spiritsurge balances this. What do you think?
Have you played Astral Wars or invested in it? How was your experience? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments
