Surrogacy a hope for the hopeless

Surrogacy is a complex topic that raises various emotions, and ethical and legal considerations, it is something that makes some people frown and others shy away from it.

Surrogacy provides an opportunity for people who cannot conceive or carry a pregnancy to become parents. Imagine couples who are fertile but because of one health issue or another, they can't bear children. There was this couple who are my neighbors, they tried every means to conceive but to no Avail.

They went for a test, and it turned out that the wife had a shrunk womb and there was nothing medical they could do about it, According to the doctor if it had been noticed when she was a teenager, there would have been a cure but now, she is older everything has shrunk to a size of cashew nuts.

The doctor said she had a fertile egg and could still have a child just that she wouldn't be the one to carry it but someone else. She had a supportive husband and they opted for surrogacy today the have their babies with them, who are still their flesh and blood.

While some people shy away from surrogate because of what people will say, maybe their husband's family will not see them as a woman.

Surrogacy allows women to make choices about their bodies, reproductive health, and financial well-being, most especially celebrities.

I don't think anything is wrong with going for surrogacy as long as you see who is willing to bear the child for you, and you can comfortably take care of the person till she gives birth. As long as you are financially buoyant, go for it.

Is it something that I can do and what are my reasons?

Surrogacy involves complex emotional and psychological dynamics, including attachment, bonding, and identity issues. I don't think it's something I can do, although it will bring joy to the couple's face but I can't just path away with my child. I love children a lot, I don't have a child of my own yet as am not married, except I have already given birth to the number of children that I want, so there is a need to help a couple that I might willingly assist.

Is it ethical?

Ultimately, it ethics on various factors, including the motivations of the parties involved, the regulatory framework, and the cultural and societal context to my understanding.

Should this method of childbearing be abandoned in favor of the traditional method?

No, I don't think either one should be abandoned in favor of the other. If this method is ruled out some couples would remain childless and this won't be nice at all. If you can give birth on your own, go ahead, if not, go for any available option. Meanwhile, some women or men who don't want to be married or marry can use this option to have children of their own. Models that want to maintain their figure because of work can still use it.

In all, if you can afford it, go for it, if that is the only option you have left

This is such a good time to be born. I'm just glad that people who wish to have kids and are unable to do so the traditional way don't have to remain childless. Just follow the right way and be buoyant enough, and that's that.

Surrogacy had brought hope to many homes. I know of many couples who would not have had any kids if not for surrogacy.

I agree with you, both method are important, if any of them is taken out, people would be affected.

The story you shared is a eye opener.
Financial capability, Luke you said is important as surrogacy can be a very costly process, and it's essential to consider the financial implications.
Thanks for sharing.

It's something complex, the example you mentioned is something that no one expects to have any restrictions, but when it happens it totally impacts the coexistence and the way of thinking about the subject, your approach was light on the subject, leaving it free for each person to seek the best way to make their dreams come true.

Nice one .. just that in some case after they give birth to the child some refuse to let go of the child and that makes surrogacy risking
