Better separated than killing each other

Marriage is for better and for worse, and until it's life threatening. I don't think divorce should be an option.I can't imagine someone waking up in the morning and wanting to divorce their spouse. When asked why, he will say, 'because I don't love her anymore and I don't think I can continue.'

Let's take the case of Annie and 2face. When their marriage saga began, we all thought it was a joke because we all know how much Annie loves 2face. She practically worships the ground he walks on. With all the drama of the baby mamas, she stood her ground, never wanting to opt for divorce. But whatever happened, 2face decided that he doesn't want the marriage anymore.

It was the reason he gave that still beats my mind. When he was interviewed about why he was leaving his marriage, he said that he wants a woman who will challenge him, not one who sees him as a master. All these years, he didn't see anything wrong with Annie being submissive, but when another woman comes in, he suddenly needs a challenge. He didn't even consider the children.

Why divorce will continue to be common? Because many people marry for the wrong reasons. What exactly do you see in this woman or man that you want to settle for? Have you had a heart-to-heart discussion with this person? Remember, you both come from different backgrounds and have different views on life.

You never discuss what can keep this marriage going when love is no longer enough. Do I love everything about you? Am I able to stand the test of time? Forget what your partner says about loving you. What is their reaction when you don't have money? What is their reaction when you do something they don't like, whether by mistake or on purpose?

Did you guys discuss divorce? If it ever happens in the future, how will you co-parent so your children don't lack motherly or fatherly care? Are you willing to make amendments or do you just not care?These are the many questions most couples never say or ask themselves.

I don't pray to marry and divorce, but if it becomes life-threatening, for example, domestic violence and excessive cheating, I will leave with my kids because I can't afford to be faithful. My husband will go out there, messing around, only to come home and infect me and the kids with HIV. This is the situation of a woman that I know right now.

If I ever am going to divorce, I will make sure it is on grounds that we can co-parent in peace, like Chioma Chukwa and her ex-husband are doing - no single drama, nobody comes to social media to drag or disgrace anybody. Co-parenting in peace; that way, the kids will still grow up as if both parents are together.

So many women have died because they were considering their children like osinachi. Some children were still raised in a complete home but they still turn out badly, raised with the trauma of seeing their parents fight every time or always being in the crossfire. Save them from that abusive marriage instead of traumatizing them more.
