THE OTHER SIDE OF GOVERNMENT FAVOURITISM

People always say that the government favors the rich ,yes for me I believe that because a lot of these tax policy,banking policies and so many other policies are geared towards favouring the rich only and it keeps putting the poor masses in more suffering but to the rich makes life better for them.

This is my entry for hive learners weekly contest edition 2. If you look across the country you would realize that the government favors the rich mostly and those who are in the middle of the lower class barely struggle to survivor and get by each day. When some economic policies are announced it is slates to be for the improvement and enhancement of the economy. but to the poor masses what does it really mean to them ?Does it mean improvement or does it increase the suffering they already going through.

When you think about it you'll realize that when government are restructuring in policies and matters that will enhance economic growth they are majorly gear towards the rich because the rich own most of the big factories. The big banks and cooperatives and industries belong to the rich and most times this restructuring will favor them because for example : if a bank is going into bankruptcy and the government gets to know about it,they always run to the government to help them merge with another bank or assist them in one way or the other to keep them standing because these are the major sources of the country's economy. And when you look at it you would realize that it is mostly the rich that own this company so they are always more favored than those in the lower class.

Another important factor is political influence most of these rich people who own a large share of the industries and economic management sources in the country are influential and they have direct access to the politicians. We live in a country where the slogan is you must know somebody,who knows somebody ,who knows somebody, to be able to get something from the higher authorities. Life basically works by connection these days people get favours by going to an office and you mention someone's name who is influencial and they get access to what they want without stress.

The poor who do not have anyone to stand up for them and end up suffering greatly under the influence of the government while the rich strive. Corruption also plays an important role in all this because in the developing countries where money that is allocated for building roads, housing,healthcare system and providing better education are being channeled into the wrong sources those who are in charge of handling this work would rather put all the money in their own personal pockets and let the People so suffer

That is why you see most of our politicians and influential people in the country send their children outside the country for better education and then when it comes to their health care system they travel out to treat themselves outside the country they rather than going to the hospitals we have in the country.They fly out to place it like India to get treatment , so the poor masses are left to deal with whatever the health care services offer them .

The ideology that the government is for the rich is actually true yes in the country we live in the rich get access to everything and they are more connected to the politicians and the government. The poor masses suffer and that brings a very big imbalance in the system which makes it one sided. The government should try to do better to serve their citizens well and create equality.
