THE DARK SIDE OF REALITY TV SHOWS AND REASONS WHY THEY SHOULD BE BANNED

Hello everyone, your welcome come to my blog today.

I know a lot of people who are into reality TV shows and I myself have watched some last year it is very addictive I must say and most of them contain explicit contents that are not appropriate for all ages to watch it is not like the talent Hunt shows we normally have initially, like the Nigerian got Idol and so many other shows where people come to show off their talent those who can sing ,those who can act, and do so many other things and they are being empowered and recognized that is not what we have anymore.

This is my entry for hive learners weekly contest edition 3 when we had this kind of shows we actually encourage children and youth to watch them to be able to have the courage to sihow off their talents. We encourage them to be famous with their God given talents but now the kind of reality TV shows we have going on now is giving off another knowledge other than what it is supposed to be.

Reality TV shows like big brother naija and most of the American reality TV shows I can't really remember their names , those are ones I have watched it is not something that you would let your children watch most of them have activities related to sexuality and intimacy going on in them and we called them reality TV shows ? What exactly are they teaching the audience what if children see this videos are they going to learn anything good for it or will it just corrupt their mindset.

I have a friend eucharia who is journalist and she wrote on big brother naija that happened last year she is a die hard fan of reality TV shows both the ones that are in Nigeria and the ones that are outside Nigeria. She actually made me start watching them and after watching them I realized that immediately that it mostly involves romance ,sex and more adult content there is nothing educating for our kids to learn from this reality TV shows .

For me in my own opinion I will strongly say that reality issues should be banned I wouldn't say all of them should be banned.The shows like Nigerians got alent and all the others that are related to showcasing talent should not be banned but this other ones that are all about sexuality ,intimacy, relationship and so on if they cannot be banned let's it be regulated that only adults can have access to it let us monitor what our children watch all in the name of reality TV shows.

To the lovers of big brother naija I just have to point it out here big brother naija is no longer a show that anybody can watch a lot of things go down there and it's on screen for everybody to see yes even the children our kids these days do a lot of things behind our backs they could still watch it behind our backs . It's true it is part of the entertainment industry but then if there they show their needs to be banned ,big brother naija would be one of them because it has done more harm and good to the youths with the kind of content that is being produced.

Reality TV shows have the advantages and disadvantages it it can either teach us and educate us or it could lead us more into temptation but regardless there should always be a balance let there be reality TV shows which can teach the children and youth the power of using their talents and then the other side of the reality TV shows that are not good for kids should strictly be rated 18 and above and not made access to everyone.
