Hot coffee and cold salad

On Friday, my older brother and I decided to meet for ice cream.He always likes to treat himself with a few drinks after the gym.

The thing was that I don't know how or when but we ended up at the Cafe of the Santiago Club in the city, it's as if all roads lead to the cafe. This is one of our favorite places, I'm already tired of writing about its vintage decor and friendly atmosphere, fundamental things that save it because there are shifts that are not very good.

I thought I had sat at all the tables in the place until I noticed one that despite being the center of the place has only two seats and from there you can enjoy all the space and a privileged part of the decoration.

I started by ordering a cold salad, they have various offers at the Cafe.

I hadn't tried it yet when the cortado I had ordered arrived.

Anyway I enjoyed the salad first and left the hot drink for last. We are on dates where a sip of coffee is necessary, it wakes us up, it comforts us, which is something that it's never getting “cold" in my Santiago, the temperature at 20ºC we can't resist.

The cut came without waiting and at the right time. This is one of the drinks that give you a hug without hands, that tell you a here I am just by trying them. My cup was in a perfect spot, this was one of the few occasions where I felt that I had added the exact point of sugar, and I just needed to enjoy it.

Once I read that peace smells and tastes like coffee, I already knew, it's just what I feel with every sip, and to think that years ago I disliked it, who would say it now. My cortado offered me the just and necessary peace for the moment.
It's like when you're all messed up and without asking for it or waiting for it, the antidote comes to you.

To complete the afternoon, we ended up at the René Valdés Gallery, it's right on the next street. The exhibition is incredible.

I couldn't ask for more for that afternoon, coffee and art, I affirm that it is one of the best combinations. I need more energy bars like the ones on Friday.
