I’ve been hearing about Casa Dranguet for at least 2 years. I’ve always wanted to visit, but circumstances always got in the way, or simply when I finally decided to go, it was closed. Well, the wait was over, and @lilyross and I decided to surprise ourselves the day before things got complicated.

Expectations were sky-high, since the references were excellent. Once there, we went into the patio where the magic happens. We sat at one of the tables with umbrellas, but the sun was so intense that soon the heat became uncomfortable. That’s when I realized that the menu didn’t just offer coffee, but also other options like natural juices—a very welcome choice.

We ordered coffee first. When I go to a café for the first time, I almost always order a “cortado” to check the quality of the coffee. However, this was the first time I regretted ordering it, because when I saw the cappuccino my wife ordered, envy took over me. She says it was the best she’s ever had, and I confirm it.

I didn’t order another one for myself, because if I drink too much coffee in a day, I get insomnia at night—and I respect my sleep a lot. But now I know what I’ll order next time I go, which by the way I’ll do alone without her knowing.

The place was a real discovery. However, I think there could be more space between the tables. Still, that didn’t spoil the evening. The best part of all was the prices. I think they’re the lowest I’ve seen in the city. On top of that, they’re in the top 3 for quality. Therefore, I think this is the kind of place @roswelborges referred to in one of his posts.

The only thing we missed was visiting the museum there. According to the manager, it was closed. Casa Dranguet has a very powerful coffee.
