Blown Out Windy Day At The Lake, Deer, Chilling and Relaxing - Friday
I awoke to that view in the morning yesterday and knew we wouldn't be flying since the wind was blasting all night. All the smoke in the air made for some interesting colors.
It was a while before Andy and Lisa showed up but we got the boat load with us and gear and headed for the launch spot.
The waves on the ride over were way to big already, this cove was hidden from the wind a bit.
So we all headed back to the campground to hang out or the day. The white caps on the water had Andy a little nervous and he didn't want to take chances.
So my day was largely spent hanging out in my truck. The seats are nice and comfortable and my tent was right next to it for a bit of protection against the psycho wind.
I noticed this group of deer moving along the lake across the bay from camp.
It was amazing how well they blended in to the background and they just milled about and were in and out of the tree line.
So nice to have my truck back.
The winds were so strong I had to boil my water in the truck to keep the burner lit.
Glad I brought my veggies with.
The sunset was nice as I stood and talked with Lukas and Lisa.
The wind DIED when the sun went down and I slept soo much better last night.
Today will be a long one. Trying for first boat over at 8am and then tons of flights to get in. Second boat is here as well so we may be able to pound out the flights.
