After so many days, when I encountered you again today,
suddenly in that crowd,
where there was no expectation,
how startled I was,
like a thief caught red-handed
Immediately aware of my profound ingratitude,
my head bowed down in shame
I remembered that you had given me
the wisdom,
that mends the tangled threads of love
with patience and affection
That compassion with the help of which
the unbearable blows of loved ones are endured,
become bearable and that unshakable faith
that life is not just about deception
the inner indifferences,
the cunningness of respected allies,
that it is not just about the arrogance of the savages
Ready to crush the chest of the summit in the conceit of some momentary achievement there is more to life
It was you who gave me that unique feeling
that the first shower of rain
that as the dust settles
the peaceful, deep blue of the sky opens up,
after years I suddenly, for no reason,
received a message of someone's unfading friendship,
the assurance of colleagues walking together in the same direction, even when far apart
all this is there in life,
you had said
All this,
who knows what else,
I remembered
and I was filled with an extraordinary peace
when today,
suddenly, in the crowd
after so long
I encountered you like this,
