Beware The Fake Bling
I recently saw an ad that was initially very promising and caught my interest. It was how someone could build their own custom chain. I went to investigate.
I wasn't able to get a good shot of the chains up close because of all the people looking. I noticed the price on each chain ranged from $4-5, so I asked what it meant. The gentleman explained this was the cost per inch. He added that each chain was brass plated in Sterling silver or gold. I appreciated the honesty, but it was an instant "no" for me.
While this gentleman was forthcoming, not all merchants are. Never assume what you're looking at is genuine gold or silver. Always ask to confirm, and don't hesitate to look for hallmarks indicating the manufacturer and purity. If they're not there, ask more questions. If they can't give you answers or the price seems too good to be true, it's safer to pass than risk being scammed and lose money.

I think if I were going to buy something like this I would go to that Mene site that someone mentioned to me a long time ago.
Yeah, they're a good option that's reputable. I'm not sure how they compare on price vs others.

There's always someone taking advantage of others. This person was an honest one, love that! Ive been in the position to break hearts when people show me the "gold" jewelry the got, only to have me show them its fake. I hate scammers.
Yeah, the honesty was refreshing. Yeah, it's tough breaking the news to people. They think they got a steal, but knew it was too good to be true.
