The Potential of Legendary Reward Cards: Blackmoor Jinx & Chaos Battle Mage - Social Media Challenge [Eng/Esp]
Hello again, Splinterlands community! We're almost done with July and starting the last month of summer. Just yesterday we had the EoS where our progress was quite little but the rewards in the glint store were worth it but we talked about that in depth in my post from yesterday. Even though they're from the Rebellion Edition, you can still use them in the Modern format.
Hola de nuevo comunidad de Splinterlands! Ya terminamos el mes de Julio y damos comienzo al último mes del verano. Recién ayer tuvimos el EoS donde nuestro progreso fue bastante poco pero las recompensas en la tienda de glints valieron la pena pero de eso hablamos en profundidad en mi post del día de ayer. Hoy quiero compartirles mis impresiones de las cartas legendarias rewards que aunque son de la edición Rebellion aún puedes usarlas en el formato moderno.
We've been accumulating glints over the last four seasons to buy my first legendary cards. I hadn't been able to buy these cards before because I started buying them very late and my focus was on spending my first accumulated glints on the Veteran title. But as you can see, we got a great variety of these cards, and I started testing them out from the very beginning. In this context, for this social media challenge, we'll explore our first two legendary cards, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages, as well as the best way to use them in combat. Let's begin!
Estuvimos acumulando glints en las últimas 4 temporadas para comprar mis primeras cartas legendarias, no había podido comprar estas cartas antes ya que comencé muy tarde a comprar estas cartas y mi atención estaba en gastar mis primeros glints acumulados en el título de Veteran. Pero como pueden ver obtuvimos una gran variedad de estas cartas y desde el primer momento comencé a probarlas. En este contexto, para este social media challenge exploraremos nuestras primeras 2 cartas legendarias, destacando sus ventajas y desventajas, asi como la mejor manera de aprovecharlas en combate. Comencemos!
Blackmoor Jinx
Blackmoor Jinx was my first legendary card. I didn't get it from the Glint Shop, but from Loot Chests upon leveling up. In fact, it's the only one I've gotten from loot chests, as I'm already at level 2. So far, I haven't found a specific use or strategy for it, as it's very difficult to use a ranged unit that attacks the secondary row without having another unit with the sneak or opportunist ability. But Modern has been the place where I've been able to give it the most value.
Blackmoor Jinx fue mi primera carta legendaria, no la obtuve en la tienda de glints, sino en los cofres de botín al subir de nivel, de hecho ha sido la única que me ha dado los cofres, pues ya la tengo en nivel 2. Hasta el momento no le he conseguido una utilidad/estrategia concreta ya que es muy complicado darle uso a una unidad rango que ataque la fila secundaria sin tener alguna otra unidad con la habilidad sneak u opportunist. Pero en Modern ha sido el lugar donde he podido darle una mayor utilidad.
Advantages/Ventajas
Low mana cost and snipe/Bajo costo de mana y snipe
The big advantage of this card is its 1 mana cost. It's ideal for those low-mana battles, and the more cards between 0 and 3 mana we have, the better it will be, as we'll be able to take advantage of every available space on the battlefield. Its snipe ability allows it to target ranged, magical, or non-attacking units in the secondary row.
La gran ventaja de esta carta es su costo de 1 de mana, es ideal para esas batallas de bajo mana y mientras más cartas de entre 0 a 3 de mana tengamos, será mucho mejor pues así podremos aprovechar cada espacio disponible en el campo de batalla. Su habilidad snipe le permite apuntar a unidades rango, mágicas o sin ataque en la fila secundaria.
Disadvantages/Desventajas
1. Low speed and life/Baja velocidad y vida
Like most 0 or 1 mana cards, these units' health is quite low, and their speed doesn't help much either, so we must protect these units from attackers targeting the back line. On the other hand, they can be placed in the back line to cover the rear, but you must consider that their health is very low and they are highly likely to fall in the first few seconds of combat.
Como la mayoría de las cartas de mana 0 o 1 la vida de estas unidades es bastante baja, su velocidad tampoco ayuda mucho, por lo que debemos proteger este tipo de unidades de atacantes que apuntan a la última posición, por otro lado esta el hecho que puede ubicarse en la última posición para cubrir la retaguardia pero debes considerar que su vida es muy baja y es altamente probable que caiga en los primeros segundos del combate.
Battle/Batalla
We will then test the Blackmoor Jinx in a battle with an extreme mana limit: 13. Of course, we will use the Ground class, but using the Dragon Splinter Kavor Skarn as our Archon, mainly due to its 3 mana cost, which allows us to place more units on the battlefield.
Pondremos a prueba entonces al Blackmoor Jinx en una batalla con un límite de mana extremo: 13. Por supuesto usaremos la clase tierra pero usando como arconte al splinter dragón Kavor Skarn, principalmente con su coste de mana 3 que nos permite ubicar más unidades en el campo de batalla.

⚔️Rounds 1 - 3
As I mentioned earlier, Blackmoor Jinx must be accompanied by another unit that also attacks the second position. To achieve this, we place the Dragon Egg Forager, an opportunistic attack with speed 3. It attacks Daigendark Surveyor first and is finished off by Blackmoor, becoming the first unit to be eliminated. In the second round, we take down its tank, and since our opponent took a risk by using Shock Trooper, he subjected his units to passive damage, which cost him the victory. We thus achieved a victory in which we only lost the tank. Let's look at the next legendary card.
Como dije anteriormente Blackmoor Jinx debe estar acompañada por otra unidad que también ataque la segunda posición y para eso ubicamos a Dragón Egg Forager un oportunista con velocidad de 3 así que ataca primero a Daigendark Surveyor y es rematado por Blackmoor para ser la primera unidad en ser eliminada. Enel segundo round damos de baja a su tanque y como nuestro oponente se arriesgó usando Shock Trooper sometió a sus unidades a un daño pasivo que le costó la victoria. Logramos así una victoria en el que solo perdimos el tanque, veamos la siguiente carta legendaria.
Chaos Battle Mage: La honda marca del Imperio del Caos/Chaos Battle Mage: The Deep Mark of the Chaos Empire
Many Rebellion reward cards have impressive designs, but this card takes the cake! I love the art of this card, and its lore makes me value it even more, as it's a remnant of the Glorious Chaos Legion! The fact that Chaos Legion, the same edition now so fiercely despised by the whales, still has weight and participation in Modern makes me appreciate this card even more.
Muchas cartas rewards Rebellion tienen un diseño impresionante pero esta carta se lleva el premio! Me encanta el arte de esta carta y además su lore hace que la valore más, pues es un vestigio de la Gloriosa Legión del Chaos! El hecho que aún Chaos Legión, esa misma edición que ahora desprecian las ballenas con todas sus fuerzas, siga teniendo un peso y participación en Moderno hace que aprecie todavía más esta carta.
Advantages/Ventajas
Excellent stats from level 1!/Excelentes estadísticas desde el nivel 1!
If a card like this being neutral is already a huge advantage, the fact that its stats are so good from level 1 makes this card incredibly useful from the lowest level! It already offers a huge advantage in Modern, particularly if you play Bronze/Silver, while in Wild it also offers an advantage, as its mana cost is relatively low for a card like this.
Si ya de por si que una carta como esta sea neutra es una gran ventaja, que sus estadísticas sean tan buenas desde el nivel 1 hacen que esta carta tenga una enorme utilidad desde el nivel más bajo! Ya en moderno ofrece una gran ventaja, particularmente si juegas en bronce/plata, mientras que en wild también ofrece una ventaja, pues su costo de mana es relativamente bajo para una carta como esta.
Disadvantages/Desventajas
Fixed damage and speed/Daño y velocidad fijos
Both this card's damage and speed remain unchanged at subsequent levels; only the amount of health it has increases, and you only acquire abilities like Divine Shield, Reborn, and Redemption at level 4. They aren't as useful as you might expect at higher levels like Diamond or Champion, so I tend to use it in leagues ranging from Silver to Gold.
Tanto el daño como la velocidad de esta carta se mantienen inamovibles en los siguientes niveles, solo aumenta la cantidad de salud que tiene y solo adquieres habilidades como divine shield, reborn y redemption en nivel 4. No son tan útiles como puede esperarse en niveles superiores como diamante o champion, por lo que suelo usarlo en ligas que van desde plata a oro.
Battle/Batalla
Testing this card in Modern seemed like a bit of a stretch, so I decided to push the limits of this card in the Modern format where I'm playing in Diamond League. The battle conditions have an unlimited mana ceiling, so it's perfect for using powerful cards. Of the three splinters: Fire, Life, and Death, our choice will be the Life class.
Poner a prueba esta carta en moderno me pareció algo demasiado fácil, así que decidí llevar al límite esta carta en el formato moderno donde estoy jugando en la liga diamante. Las condiciones de batalla tienen un techo de mana ilimitado así que viene perfecto para usar cartas poderosas y de los 3 splinters: fuego, vida y muerte, nuestra elección será por la clase vida.

⚔️Rounds 1 - 2
Our lineups were quite similar, and unfortunately for us, in the early rounds, the opponent activated the Retaliate ability on his tank more frequently, so he managed to dispatch not only my tank but also my second melee unit before falling, leaving my Captain Katie in first position.
Nuestras alineaciones eran bastante similares y para nuestra mala suerte en los primeros rounds el oponente activó con más frecuencia la habilidad retaliate en su tanque así que logró despachar no sólo a mi tanque, sino a mi segunda unidad melé antes de caer, dejando a mi Captain Katie en la primera posición.
Rounds 3 - 4
From here on, it's easier to understand why I placed Chaos Battle Mage next to Iziar. Her sacrifice drastically boosted this card's speed and damage, making it truly dangerous. Similarly, with Captain Katie, they now do tremendous damage together! Eliminating the enemy Iziar and the opponent's tank Marisol Contuma thus activating bloodlust.
A partir de aquí se entiende mejor porque coloque a Chaos Battle Mage al lado de Iziar, su sacrificio potenció drásticamente la velocidad y el daño de esta carta haciéndola realmente peligrosa, de igual forma con Captain Katie, ahora juntas hacen un daño terrible! Eliminando al Iziar enemigo y al tanque Marisol Contuma del oponente activando así el bloodlust.
Rounds 5 - 6
With Bloodlust activated, Captain Katie becomes an unstoppable force. Chaos Battle Mage takes care of eliminating defenses while Djinn Renova and Katie obliterate the rest of the enemy lineup for the final round. Victory!
Con el bloodlust activado Captain Katie se vuelve una fuerza indetenible, Chaos Battle Mage se encarga de eliminar las defensas mientras Djinn Renova y Katie obliteran el resto de la alineación enemiga para el último round. Victoria!
In conclusion, friends, these first two legendary cards: Land and Neutral, have great utility. The former in low-mana Modern battles, and the latter not only offers a huge advantage in Modern, but also in Wild, just by being at level 1. With this, we conclude our first legendary card review.
