The Potential of Epic Reward Cards (Part III): Night Reaper & Olivia of the Block - Social Media Challenge [Eng/Esp]
A big hello, Splinterlands community! Welcome to my social media challenge. In this post, I want to continue my exploration of the Rebellion reward cards, which we can still obtain in the Glint Shop and in Reward Chests every time we upgrade a league. If you're a new player, you should make sure to get these reward cards, as they're an excellent complement to advancing in the Modern format if you're just starting out with Conclave Arcana Core cards.

Sean bienvenidos a mi social media challenge, en este post quiero continuar mi exploración de las cartas rewards Rebellion, que todavía podemos obtener en la tienda de glints y en los cofres de recompensas cada que subimos una liga. So far, we've reviewed four epic cards: Water, Earth, Death, and Neutral. Now, in this post, we're going to explore the potential of Life and Dragon class cards. Below, I'll leave the links to the posts where I review the four previous epic cards. Let's get started!

Night Reaper
The Dragon class, in my opinion, is one of the most versatile cards in the rewards-only meta, since, as you know, the imbalance of Core Rebellion cards makes it impossible to make any serious comparisons. In this case, Night Reaper is a card with one of the abilities I use the most, not only in wild or brawl formats, but also in modern ranked. But let's first look at the advantages and disadvantages of this wonderful card.
La clase dragón tiene desde mi punto de vista una de las cartas más versátiles del meta exclusivamente de cartas rewards ya que como saben el desbalance de las cartas Core Rebellion hace imposible hacer cualquier tipo de comparación seria. En este caso Night Reaper es una carta con una de las habilidades que más suelo utilizar no solo en el formato wild o brawls, sino también en el ranking moderno, pero veamos primero las ventajas y desventajas de esta maravillosa carta.
Advantages/Ventajas
1. New ability: Wingbreak/Nueva habilidad: Wingbreak
Wingbreak is an ability that has made Night Reaper one of my favorite cards when I play Modern. The reason is simple: this ability turns all flying units into a magnet for this card to attack. Regardless of whether the card is cloaked, a unit with Taunt is present, or even if this unit is in the first position, its attacks will always target any flying unit in the enemy ranks.
Wingbreak, es una habilidad que ha convertido a Night Reaper en una de mis cartas favoritas cuando juego en moderno, la razón es simple, esta habilidad convierte a todas las unidades voladoras en un imán para que esta carta los ataques, ignorando si la carta se encuentra camuflada, esté presente una unidad con la habilidad Taunt o incluso si esta unidad se encuentre en la primera posición, sus ataques siempre irán dirigidos a cualquier unidad voladora que se encuentre en las filas enemigas.
2. Flying
The other ability this card has is its high evasion rate. Having this card at level 1 gives you a fixed speed of 4, so having the flying ability increases your chances of dodging even more. If you have the summoner Sthispa, who grants the Phase ability to your allies, you can make Night Reaper dodge even magic attacks.
La otra habilidad que tiene esta carta es su alta tasa de evasión, ya teniendo esta carta en nivel 1 tienes una velocidad fija de 4 por lo que contar con la habilidad volador aumenta todavía más sus oportunidades de esquivar, si cuentas con el invocador Sthispa que confiere la habilidad Phase a tus aliados podrás hacer que Night Reaper esquive hasta los ataques mágicos.
Disadvantages/Desventajas
1. High mana cost/Alto coste de mana
This card has almost all its outstanding stats; its only downside is its high mana cost. You'll have to carefully consider whether or not to use this card in games with a mana limit of 30-35, as this card alone consumes 11 mana, and the other downside is that it makes this unit susceptible to enemies with the Giant Killer ability. Aside from that detail, this card is ideal for battles with mana above 40.
Esta carta tiene casi todas sus estadísticas sobresalientes, su única desventaja es su alto coste de mana. Tendrás que pensar bien si usar o no esta carta en partidas con un límite de mana de 30-35, ya que esta carta por si sola consume 11 de mana y la otra desventaja es que hace a esta unidad susceptible a enemigos con la habilidad Giant Killer. Fuera de es detalle esta carta es ideal para aquellas batallas por encima de 40 puntos de mana.
Olivia of the Brook:
Our second epic card we're going to explore is Olivia of the Brook, the new reward addition for the Life class. Like Night Reaper, this card has equal, if not greater, versatility. In fact, some consider it the Quora Toweshead of Rebellion. But let's take a look at this card's characteristics.
Nuestra segunda carta épica que vamos a explorar es Olivia of the Brook, la nueva incorporación reward para la clase vida y al igual que Night Reaper esta carta tiene una versatilidad igual o incluso mayor, de hecho algunos la consideran la Quora Toweshead de Rebellion. Pero veamos las características de esta carta.
Advantages/Ventajas
1. Mimic
The Mimic ability is undoubtedly one of the most interesting additions to these reward cards. In fact, I'm thinking of unlocking it, as it seems to me that a card with the ability to copy enemy abilities is truly strategic. However, the abilities Debilitations, Targeting abilities, Ambush, Weapons Training, Flank, Reach, Charge, and Taunt cannot be copied.
La habilidad Mimic es sin duda una de las incorporaciones más interesantes en estas cartas rewards, de hecho estoy pensando desbloquearla ya que me da la impresión que una carta con la habilidad para copiar habilidades enemigas es realmente estratégico. Sin embargo, las habilidades Debilitations, Targeting abilities, Ambush, Weapons Training, Flank, Reach, Charge, y Taunt no pueden ser copiadas.
Disadvantages/Desventajas
1. Low damage and life/Bajo daño y vida
As you can conclude, a card that can mimic abilities as powerful as shield, phase, tank heal and many more makes this card one of the most powerful, to balance it this card has somewhat modest stats and also a low amount of life so you must make sure to protect this card well to prevent opportunistic cards or sneak/sniper cards from reaching it in the first 2 rounds and losing the opportunity to mimic enemy abilities.
Como ya podrán concluir, una carta que puede mimetizar habilidades tan poderosas como shield, phase, tank heal y muchas más convierten a esta carta en una de las más poderosas, para balancearla esta carta tiene estadísticas un tanto modestas y también una baja cantidad de vida por lo que debes asegurarte de proteger bien a esta carta para evitar que cartas oportunistas o con sneak/sniper la alcances en los 2 primeros rounds y pierdas la oportunidad de mimetizar las habilidades enemigas.
Battle/Batalla
We tested our two epic reward cards based on this premise: A large mana cap that allows us to use high-mana-cost units. We will use Agor Longtail as the main tank and support him with two healers. Since Agor can heal himself, we would have three sources of healing and one source of status restoration in case he suffers any affliction. In the last positions we will place Night Reaper and Olivia, the latter being the reason why we used a unit with taunt, to give Olivia time to learn enemy skills.
Pusimos a prueba nuestras 2 cartas épicas rewards siguiendo esta premisa: Un amplio límite de mana que nos permite usar unidades de alto costo de mana, usaremos a Agor Longtail como tanque principal y lo apoyaremos con 2 sanadores y como Agor puede sanarse por si mismo tendríamos 3 fuentes de curación y 1 fuente de restauración de estado en el caso de sufrir alguna aflicción. En las últimas posiciones ubicaremos a Night reaper y Olivia, ésta última es la razón por la que usamos una unidad con taunt, para darle tiempo a Olivia para que aprende habilidades enemigas.

⚔️Rounds 1 - 4
Nothing special happened in the first round; it was really in the second round that things got interesting. Night Reaper eliminated the dangerous Chaos Dragon. Its high magic damage, combined with blast and blinding our units, made it an enemy we absolutely had to eliminate first. As they flew, they became easy prey for the Night Reaper. At the end of the fourth round, we managed to obtain tank heal thanks to Olivia's Mimic ability, so we now have three healing units in our ranks.
En el primer round no sucede nada especial, es realmente en el 2do round que comienzan las cosas interesantes, empezando porque Night Reaper eliminó al peligroso Chaos Dragón su alto daño mágico, combinado con blast y el cegar a nuestras unidades lo hacían un enemigo que necesariamente debíamos eliminar de primero, al volar se convirtió en presa fácil del Night Reaper. Al finalizar el cuarto round logramos obtener gracias a la habilidad Mimic de Olivia tank heal por lo que ahora sumamos 3 unidades sanadoras en nuestras filas.
Rounds 5-8
Defeating Bakjira took us almost two full rounds, but fortunately, we eliminated important pieces of the enemy's offense. So it was only a matter of time before we eliminated Thanalorian Scion and Anasth Soothsayer in the seventh round. Finally, in the eighth round, we eliminated Nerissa Tridawn to secure the victory.
Derrotar a Bakjira nos llevó casi 2 round completos pero afortunadamente eliminamos piezas importantes de la ofensiva enemiga, así que todo fue cuestión de tiempo para en el séptimo round eliminar a Thanalorian Scion y Anasth Soothsayer, finalmente en el 8vo round eliminamos a Nerissa Tridawn para obtener la victoria.
In short, these two epic cards offer a huge advantage, particularly if you're facing rulesets that you know will drag out the fight, like Equalizer or Born Again. This gives Olivia of the Brook a better chance of gaining enemy abilities and becoming a key part of your lineup. Regarding Night Reaper, use it in battles with earthquakes or high-mana battles. Remember that against flying units, Wingbreak does double damage. There's only one more epic card left to review. I hope to bring it to you next week in an upcoming social media challenge. Regards.
En resumen, estas 2 cartas épicas ofrecen una gran ventaja particularmente si tienes que enfrentar ruleset que sabes que alargarán el combate como equalizer o born again, por que así Olivia of the Brook tiene más oportunidad de obtener las habilidades enemigas y volverse una pieza fundamental de tu alineación. Sobre Night reaper, usarlo en batallas con terremotos o que sean de gran cantidad de mana, recordar que contra unidades voladoras, el wingbreak hace el doble de daño. Ya solo noes queda una carta épica por reseñar espero poder traérselas la semana que viene en un próximo social media challenge. Saludos.
