Krypto - Superman's dog Drawing/ Krypto - El perrito de Superman [ENG-ESP]

Hey HiveDiy friends! I hope you're having a fantastic day. A special shout-out to all my fellow artists and crafters. Today, I'm super excited to share a drawing I made of Krypto, Superman's loyal canine companion. Up until now, Krypto has been known mostly from the comics, but he just made his big screen debut in the new movie that came out this week. His inclusion was a really cool surprise for me, and I loved his personality and the amazing dynamic he shares with Superman. As soon as I left the theater, my first thought was to capture this amazing dog on paper and share it with all of you. I hope you like it!

¡Hola, amigos de HiveDiy! Espero que estén pasando un día fantástico. Un saludo especial para todos mis compañeros artistas y artesanos. Hoy, estoy súper emocionado de compartir un dibujo que hice de Krypto, el leal compañero canino de Superman. Hasta ahora, Krypto era conocido principalmente por los cómics, pero acaba de hacer su gran debut en la pantalla grande en la nueva película que se estrenó esta semana, su inclusión fue una sorpresa genial para mí, y me encantó su personalidad y la increíble dinámica que comparte con Superman. Tan pronto como salí del cine, lo primero que pensé fue en capturar a este increíble perro en papel y compartirlo con todos ustedes. ¡Espero que les guste mucho!

This time I didn't use white cardstock, or even gray or black. Since Krypto is a dog whose predominant color is white, I used blue cardstock as the background for the drawing, since this is one of the predominant colors of Superman's symbol. So, on blue cardstock, I cut it to a good size for a portrait, and then, using white, I drew the sketch of Krypto.

En esta oportunidad no utilicé cartulina de color blanco, ni siquiera de color gris o negro, como Krypto es un perrito donde su color predominante es el blanco, utilicé una cartulina azul como fondo para dibujarla, ya que este es uno de los colores predominantes de Superman como símbolo. Así que en una cartulina de color azul, le hice cortes para reducirla a un buen tamaño para hacer un retrato, luego con color blanco me dediqué a dibujar el boceto de Krypto.

After making the sketch, I changed the white color. This time, I didn't use a wax color, but a charcoal white. This has a more intense tone that helps a lot to stand out when the background used to paint is a color other than white. So, starting from the nose, I begin to paint Krytpo's hair, with quick strokes, without any kind of doubt, since it is his fur. Here you don't have to be very technical, just quick so that the stroke can make the fur look good.

Después de hacer el boceto cambié de color blanco, esta vez no utilicé un color d ecera sino un color blanco de carboncillo, este tiene un tono más intenso que ayuda mucho a resaltar cuando el fondo que se usa para pintar es un color diferente al blanco. Así que desde la nariz comienzo a pintar el pelo de Krytpo, con trazos rápidos, sin ninguna clase de duda, ya que se trata de su pelaje, aquí no hay que ser muy técnico, sino rápido para que el trazo pueda hacer que se vea bien el pelo.

Little by little, I'm applying all the white color to the entire section of the drawing where Krytpo's hair is visible. I can't deny that this kind of strokes on paper are a bit tiring. Although I said before that there's no special technique, doing it this way can tire your hand a little. But the important thing is to always draw at a relaxed pace. Drawing should be a pleasant journey, not a terrifying voyage.

Poco a poco voy aplicando todo el color blanco a toda la parte del dibujo donde se vea el pelo de Krytpo, no puedo negar que es un poco agotador esta clase de trazos en el papel, si bien dije antes que no hay una técnica especial, hacerlo de esta forma puede cansar un poco la mano, peor lo importante es siempre dibujar manteniendo el ritmo relajado. El dibujo debe ser un viaje a gusto y no una travesía espantosa.

Now, to break away from white and add contrast with other details, I began painting his nose black, slightly lighter on the top. The eye, visible in the image, also received a slight highlight from the light reflection.

Ahora para salir del blanco y agregar contraste con otros detalles, comienzo a pintar su nariz de color negro, ligeramente un poco clara en la parte superior. De la misma forma también el ojo que es visible en la imagen, con un poquito de iluminación provocada por el reflejo de la luz.

I also painted the inside of his ear, where it's slightly obscured. In the image, you can see that Krypto was in a sequence of his sudden movement, so part of his ear looks a bit blurry. In this area, to differentiate it from the rest of the hair, I drew the lines more carefully, blending them with a brush. Once this is done, I move on to painting the collar with the Superman emblem, and finally, his adorable little red cape.

También pinto en el interior de su oreja, donde está un poco oscurecido, en la imagen se ve que Krypto estaba en una secuencia de su movimiento brusco, por lo que parte de su oreja se ve un tanto borrosa. En esta parte para diferenciar del resto del pelo, el trazo lo hice con mas cuidado y difuminando con un pincel. Hecho esto pase a pintar el collar donde tiene el emblema de superman y para finalizar su pequeña y adorable capa de color rojo.

What do you think of the result? I really liked using blue as the background for the drawing; it definitely fits with the character's theme and the film in general. As I mentioned before, Krypto stole the movie, and I hope he makes more appearances in the future. The detail on his cape is great, and he flies with the same impetus as his owner. I hope you like how it turned out. I had a lot of fun drawing it and watching the movie, so I highly recommend it. Go see it at the theater; I know you'll like it. See you soon!

Qué les ha parecido el resultado? me gusto mucho haber tomado el color azul como fondo para el dibujo, va sin duda con la temática dle personaje y la película en general. Como mencioné antes Krypto se robó la película y espero que tenga más apariciones en el futuro. El detalle de su capa es genial y vuela con el mismo ímpetu que su dueño. Espero que les haya gustado como quedó, me divertí mucho dibujando y también con la película, así que se las recomiendo, vayan al cine a verla, sé que les gustará. Me despido hasta pronto!
