Reading is something I have never really enjoyed doing, I don't know how the hell I even enjoy writing. At least that one makes me feel more alive and active. I think that's the reason I enjoy watching movies the most. This way my brain is relaxing while trying to assimilate every action I see. Reading is something that has been very hard for me to do. Ever since I knew myself. During my primary school days my mum would beat the hell out of me in order to get me to read. The issue with reading wasn't that I didn't know how to read, it was that I had to read one thing multiple times before I could grasp it. But it's just simple English my mum would always say, well I guess my mind can not just grasp that simple English lol
Although I find it difficult to read, it never really affected me in school as long as I was always in class and listening to what the teacher or lecturer is teaching, I'm very good to go. I hardly forget these things, that is why I can remember almost every movie I watched as a child, not just the movie name, but even the theme songs and other songs. For some movies I can even sing them sequentially. I'm not trying to say I'm someone special with a 1 in a million mind, I have just got to understand how my body and mind works and have known how to better utilize it. I know there are a lot of people like me who do not know how their system works and are wondering just why they read and don't understand.
Knowing how my system works has made me fall in love with audio books. I can read 5 to 8 books a week on Spotify because I get to listen to them, unlike trying to finish 5 chapters in a week which made me think I'm useless. These days I am beginning to even love my audiobooks more than movies. I spend insane hours listening to them. At least 10 hours a day, sometimes 15-18 hours listening. If there was a job for people listening to audio books, I will probably be among one of the richest Listeners because I do it for pleasure, now think what I would do if I realized money was involved.

That's a rare one, figuring out what works best for you in terms of studying and now, you even do it for fun. I don't have experience with audio books, might try it out someday.
